Eli Manning, Rihanna To Guest On 'SNL'

'SNL' Guests Announced

Eli Manning, quarterback for the Super Bowl-winning New York Giants, will host "Saturday Night Live" on May 5, with musical guest Rihanna. The news was announced during last Saturday's episode.

The athlete has never hosted "SNL" before, although he made a brief cameo during his brother Peyton's well-received 2007 hosting appearance. Rihanna has been the show's musical guest twice, each time appearing in popular "Shy Ronnie" Digital Shorts with Andy Samberg.

The May 5 episode will be the second time an athlete hosts the show this season, the first being Charles Barkley's stint in January.

The last several seasons of "SNL" have seen 22 episodes, and this season has currently produced 19, leaving three spots open. GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney has been offered a guest spot, although it's unclear whether the offer was to host or simply to make an appearance. Justin Bieber is also rumored to guest this season.
