On "American Pickers," (Mondays, 9 p.m. ET on History) Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz came across a rare, valuable practice sculpture used by Jose de Creeft, the artist best known for the famous Alice in Wonderland statue in New York's Central Park.
When they took the sinister-looking model cat to get appraised, the expert was impressed. "Nobody else has uncovered one of these," he said. "You guys have uncovered a real historical piece. You'd probably get in the $6,000 range for it right now ... It's not just an ugly cat."
"Man, it's so ugly it's beautiful," Wolfe quipped.
