Ricki Lake Wedding: Bride Opens Up About Her Secret Nuptials

Ricki Lake may have tied the knot in a secret ceremony last week, but the former talk show host isn't shy when it comes to sharing the details of her April 8 elopement with Christian Evans.

The 43-year-old newlywed gushed about married life on "Good Morning America" Tuesday, saying: “It was a week ago and I am so, so happy to be with him,” she said. “Better late than never.”

According to Lake, keeping the nuptials a secret from the press was difficult. “I have the biggest mouth. I’m someone who shares everything." she said. "I wear everything on my sleeve."

But this time around, the bride knew she wanted the ceremony to be intimate. “I wanted it to be for us," Lake said.

As a result, the only guests present at their Southern Californian beach wedding were the couple's two dogs. Lake's two sons, from her previous marriage to Rob Sussman, did not attend.

Lake and Evans first announced their engagement via Twitter in August, though the former "Dancing With The Stars" contestant had previously said that she was in no rush to walk down the aisle.
