Shakira Flubs Colombia's National Anthem (VIDEO)

Shakira

A lot of singers have messed up the words to the national anthem. It has happened to Cristina Aguilera. And to Cyndi Lauper. And now, it has happened to Shakira.

The Colombian singer was performing Colombia's national anthem last Saturday in Cartagena, Colombia for the VI Summit of the Americas, and while her vocals on the performance were brilliant (as usual), Shakira messed up the words to her native country's anthem, singing, "El surco de dolores" instead of "En surcos de dolores," and "La libertad de sublibe" instead of "La libertad sublime".

What did you think of Shakira's performance? Did you notice the flub?

Sounded good to me,
Question, why do these people keep singing National Anthems anyway?, no up side.

Please. It's Shakira. She is a great singer, but does not enunciate clearly. She OFTEN sounds like she is singing something different than what she really is, so I would not be surprised at all if she actually did sing the correct lyrics and it just sounds incorrect. I can think of a lot of songs from Shakira in both Spanish and English where you think she said one thing but she really didn't. Then again, she might have flubbed it for lack of knowing it for for simply being nervous as she was in front of many world leaders.

What a shame, Colombians don't like her that much...and the can't sing her own anthem?? I mean, she made up words, words that don't even exist in the spanish language. In this case, I rather SLANG it.... like this.... http://slangmag.com - Colombian Magazine

The Colombian national anthem is difficult to sing and many people flub it. By the way, has anyone ever heard "Jose, can you see?" in Miami?

Always a pleasure reading your comments, "Why is it okay to be mediocre nowadays?" I would feel bad for it!
