Chicago Boy Charged With Sexually Assaulting 15-Year-Old Girl In School Stairwell

Police were called to Evanston Township High School after a school officer found a 14-year-old male student allegedly forcing a 15-year-old girl to perform a sex act on him in the school's stairwell during class hours, NBC Chicago reports.

After the boy was taken into custody, the following statement was posted to the school's web site.

"... It was learned through an investigation conducted by Evanston Police Juvenile Bureau detectives and in cooperation with Evanston Township High School staff that the 14 year old male student had physically forced the 15 year old female to perform a sex act against her will.

The 14 year old male student was taken into custody and subsequently charged with one count of criminal sexual assault a class 1 felony. The male was remanded to the custody of the Cook County Juvenile Detention Center."

Evanston Patch reports the names of the boy and the female victim are not being released due to their ages.

Wow, another HuffPo story with very very few facts, plenty of speculation, and a host of commentors ready to string someone up over it! Didn't I just post a comment on one of these? Yes, different story, same formula. How about we ask some logical questions before we have this boy being prison raped? Sounds logical to me. Like....what were these 2 students doing in the stairwell when they were supposed to be in class? Were they friends? Did she go there with him willingly? If there was a forced sexual act, did she scream? Did she try and run away? And if not, why not? The school was full of people, a scream likely would have brought someone running to see what was wrong. Have these two sneaked off together before? I find it unlikely that he abducted her and threatened her with physical injury if she tried to scream...all in the middle of the school. I am not assigning blame to anyone nor am I saying that these allegations are true or false, but these are questions that should be answered before we start identifying this boy as a monster.

Well thought out response. The article is a bit sparse on facts. The tragedy is if the two kids went there and did what they did willingly, the boy will be on a grossly unconstitutional sex offender list for the rest of his life. He'll have to always register and then bear people defacing his house, terrorizing him, etc. Not saying it's OK by any means, but many of the people on those 'lists' broke the law because they got caught making out underage. Now, they must pay and pay and pay and pay for the rest of their lives.

Not condoning any forced act by any means, just saying this article leaves a lot of questions unanswered and the stakes are REALLY high for a 14 year old boy.

The parents of the violated girl should be patient at first then when he gets off with a slap on the hand , they should take the law into their own hands and really take care of this misfit boy.
Any honest jury would not charge them with a crime and the boy would be taken care of . The time for victim family suffering is over.

Only thing sickens me is I'm so tired of hearing about minors having their identities shielded when they break the law! Those days are gone and this is a new age with more violent crimes being committed by juveniles. There is no argument strong enough that will convince me otherwise why their names are not plastered in papers like the rest. If you are old enough to do the crime, then you should be able to do the time and have everyone know who you are.

Interesting that the wording on the Chicago front page is "Boy Allegedly Forced Girl To Perform Sex Act In School Stairwell" and the on this, the story page is "Chicago Boy Charged With Sexually Assaulting 15-Year-Old Girl In School Stairwell" but really the headline should be "Boy Allegedly Rapes Girl in School Stairwell".

If I were the girl's mother that is what I would want it to read. Don't slink around the crime.

this is why I strongly believe that sex between minors should be illegal, there is always going to be one that is more experienced in the ways of the world that will take advantage of another of their age. The results of these actions are no less wrong than a 25 year old having manipulated/ forced sex acts with a 15 year old.

and he probably learned that from home or from his male friends. It's not just the disrespect for the female but the overt nature of the sexual act; the humiliation of getting it done in public and the fact that he forced it.. at the ripe old age of 14. Screwed up for life.
