Kenneth Turner Stomped On Pregnant Girlfriend's Stomach, Attempting To Kill Fetus, Police Say

Kenneth Turner allegedly assaulted his pregnant ex-girlfriend, stomping on her stomach in an attempt to kill her unborn baby.

A Minnesota man is charged with attempted murder of an unborn child and domestic assault for allegedly stomping on the stomach of his pregnant on-again, off-again girlfriend.

Kenneth Turner has been arrested at least twice for felony-level domestic assault, according to a criminal complaint obtained by The Huffington Post. Fridley Police Lt. Mike Monsrud also told HuffPost that officers from his department have been called at least 13 times in the past two years for domestic-related disturbances involving the couple.

This time, Turner went to his ex-girlfriend's apartment in Fridley around 3:30 a.m. Friday morning and allegedly assaulted her for three hours, kicking, punching, and choking the woman during an argument about their relationship, local CBS affiliate WCCO reported. At one point, Turner allegedly ordered her to lie on her back on the bed and then used both feet to stomp on her stomach, according to criminal charges obtained by the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

The victim told authorities that she is two months pregnant and, during the attack, Turner said she "did not deserve the baby" and that he was going to kill it, KARE 11 reported.

While the woman experienced vaginal bleeding and abdominal pain, Lt. Monsrud told Huffpost that tests conducted on Monday showed that the fetus is still alive.

Turner's bail has been set at $500,000 and he is forbidden from having contact with the victim. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 14.

I'm not surprised the baby is alive. What I'm more concerned about is the mother having a miscarriage. Hope the baby makes it. My prayers to mommy to be.

He poises a serious threat to this woman and SHOULD NOT have bail at all! Men who beat women like this don't stop just because of a court order. May as well write orders like that on toilet paper because that's what it is to them. We need stronger laws against men who commit this type of domestic violence. They make the world unsafe for women.

The standard rule is keep sending the abuser back out into the world until he kills the woman. THEN treat him like a criminal.

I'm amazed there have never been groups of battered women forming lynch mobs. Must be one of those gender differences.

The baby has a higher purpose. To become a person of Authority to prosecute thugs like him. Punk a** men who beat on women, but wouldn't touch a real man. IF this man lives another 25 yrs., it would be poetic justice, to come before the child he stomped to kill.

You know, the more I read these stories, the more I’m inclined to believe that Margaret Sanger had the right idea concerning certain people. I know Darwin had the right idea; this animal was trying to do society a favor and eliminate her and their genetics in a couple of powerful kicks. In the process,( depending on the state) he'd be executed; the guy tried but just couldn't finish eliminating some bad genes.
