Ted Nugent: 'I'm A Non-Violent Guy, I Don't Threaten' [UPDATED]

The Huffington Post  |  By Posted: 04/18/2012 1:20 pm Updated: 04/18/2012 3:25 pm

Nugent

Rocker Ted Nugent said Wednesday that he had never and would never threaten anyone's life.

"That's ridiculous," Nugent told radio talk show host and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R). "I mean, I'm a non-violent guy, I don't threaten. I wouldn't waste my time threatening, I've never threatened anyone's life in my life. I will not threaten anyone's life. I certainly wouldn't threaten the life of the president, or anybody in public office, or anybody anywhere."

(Listen to the interview above)

Nugent confirmed that he was contacted by the Secret Service, who are investigating his comments during the NRA convention that he would be "dead or in jail by this time next year" if President Barack Obama is re-elected. Nugent, who has a history of inflammatory comments, said the Secret Service was just doing their job in investigating what he called the "preposterous, outrageous, deceitful dishonest claim that I threatened anyone's life."

"I respect their duty to do so," he said. "The rules of engagement for the Secret Service is to respond even when someone as maniacal as a Wasserman Schultz or Pelosi or Boxer or Feinstein" complains.

"They want to shut me up, and it ain't going to happen," Nugent said.

UPDATE -- 1:25 p.m.:

The Secret Service has also confirmed they will interview Nugent, according to NBC News. Nugent said he will meet with them Thursday, but the Secret Service could not confirm a date.

Ted N. to Hillary Clinton (2007): "You might want to ride one of these into the sunset, you worthless b--ch."

I know Ted is a c0 ward who made a number 2 in pants to avoid service, but nonetheless he needs to be locked up for his threats to public officials

ahetty2000....When NObama came into office gas was $1.84 a gallon. I don't hear him blaming Bush for that ! i don't hear you blaming Bush for $ 1.84 a gallon either ! Oh,excuse me the great one has brought down gas prices . Aren't we paying $ 5.00 a gallon ??/

Oh, it looks good on YOU though...........
08:04 PM on 04/22/2012
The president doesn't set gas prices. I just filled my tank for $ 3.72 per gallon, not $5. Prices where I live have not exceeded $4/gallon since they got to $ 4.30 back when Bush was president. They fell back to 1.80 within 4 months during the financial collapse under Bush. This is a result of free-market pricing, possible supply disruptions in the middle east, excessive trading leverage and giving non-users access to crude futures markets (ie. people who never intend to take physical delivery). But I realize the price of gas gives Obama-haters another way to mislead the public for political gain.

"Jailbait" by Ted Nugent:

I don´t care if you´re just thirteen
You look too good to be true
I just know that you´re probably clean
There´s one lil' thing I got do to you

Jailbait you look so good to me
Jailbait won´t you set me free
Jailbait you look fine fine fine
I know I´ve got to have you in a matter of time

Honey you you you look so nice
She´s young she´s tender
Won´t you please surrender
She's so fine she´s mine
All the time, all mine mine
It´s all right baby
It´s quite all right I asked your mama
Wait a minute officer
Don´t put those handcuffs on me
Put them on her and I´ll share her with you

Jailbait, jailbait

And your point would be .....what ? Have you actually listened to the lyrics in alot of songs these days ? They're just as bad or worse !! But because Ted dared to speak his opinion ,he is now being condemned .

My point, dear cady, is that Ted has a penchant for young girls -- jailbait -- and has now endorsed the Mittster. Here's a link where you can hear Ted explain his addiction in his own words: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPcyovOsWvg&feature=player_embedded

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Mutt represent the "family values" party? You know -- the holier than thou bible-thumpers? I don't need to condemn Teddy -- he's done that himself.

His "opinion" is an endorsement (or an expressed longing for) a sexual relationship with a 13 year old girl. I don't know too many songs that have that horrible of a sentiment expressed, even in "songs these days".

at least when someone on the left says something wrong, they come out and apologize. they dont cop out with "i was joking" or "it was a metaphor."

"To me, my family and thinking America, the dysfunctional left-wing hate hysteria was laughable. I became the No. 1 global tweet entity, while every newspaper and America-hating television and radio gang literally tripped over themselves in a feeble attempt to out-lie each other."

"at least when someone on the left says something wrong, they come out and apologize"

You all can start apologizing for lying.

What Nugent said about President Obama is far far worse than what the Dixie Chicks said about Bush, yet the right dumped on them. Nugent is a no-talent, has-been, woman-hating, draft dodger.

But he's a GUY. And real GUYS like him and Cheney prove it by shooting helpless creatures. So real GUYS have to stick up for each other.
05:05 PM on 04/20/2012
Except real guys fulfill their duty to their country and don't take 5 deferments (cheney) Or crap their pants in front of the draft board (nugent). To call these two "real guys" is really a disservice to real guys everywhere.

As someone that considers himself a real guy and even a NRA member I don't stick up for this joker. He is the pathetic caricature of what fools on the right think a real man is supposed to somehow be. There are so many reasonable, intelligent people that are members of the NRA and can speak eloquently and properly articulate their reasons for supporting the 2nd amendment as they see the language of it. Whom do not seemingly pride themselves on their buffoonery.

I know a guy that threatened the Ronald Reagan on a local tv talk show. The secret service came over to his house and interviewed him and determined that he was not a real threat.
Nothing happen to the guy other than don't do it again.

You left out a few details about Nugent's family:

1) He has had 2 wives and has 8 children, including 3 out of wedlock in 2 liaisons almost 30 years apart.
2) In 2005, he was involved in a legal battle for not paying child support for one of his children.
3) In the late '70s, Nugent began a relationship with a 17-year-old Hawai'ian. Due to the age difference, they could not legally marry, so Nugent joined her parents in signing documents to make him her legal guardian.

VERY consistent with conservative/Republican "family values."

Oh, sorry -- never mind, I forgot. OBAMA is the problem -- 'cause he's dark brown and has a funny name. My bad.
