"American Horror Story" Season 2 is leaving LA behind. According to The Hollywood Reporter, "American Horror Story" Season 2 will be set on the East Coast at a mental institution run by Jessica Lange's character.
Returning Season 1 actors Lange, Zachary Quinto, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson and Lily Rabe will play characters completely different from their Season 1 counterparts. "American Horror Story" Season 2 be set in a "completely different world," according to co-creator Ryan Murphy. For those hoping for some Season 1 nods, you'll be disappointed. Murphy said Season 2 has nothing to do with Season 1 and "there's not a mention of Season 1." "American Horror Story" Season 2 is set in a different time period.
In addition to the returning Season 1 actors -- there could also be more familiar faces popping up that have yet to be announced -- Maroon 5 frontman and "The Voice" coach Adam Levine has joined the cast of the FX series for Season 2.
"It's going to be fun and I told him I didn't really know what I was doing, but he didn’t seem to care," Levine told Ryan Seacrest in early April 2012. "So, I'm going to go and just try to be acting. I think I'm going to be playing myself, so hopefully it will be easy."
