Grow House
Police say that this Florida couple used their baby's bedroom as part of a marijuana grow house.

A Florida couple used their 3-week-old baby's bedroom in an illegal marijuana grow-house operation, according to the Hillsborogh County Sheiriff's Office.

Christopher and Angela Holbrooks, 30 and 34, were arrested Saturday when officers discovered a hydroponic marijuana growing operation in their Plant City home.

Police seized 37 plants weighing approximately 20 pounds and valued at $60,000. They said there was a "strong odor of marijuana" within the residence.

"The arrestees were also storing loose marijuana in a three week old child’s room," a sheriff's report said.

Authorities also found "fresh cut marijuana clippings on the front porch," according to police.

"I can't believe that. How could they do that to a baby? I have kids of my own. It's shocking," neighbor Monica Case told ABC Action News.

The baby was removed by Child Protective Services.

The couple is charged with manufacture of marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession for purpose of manufacturing and possession of drug paraphernalia. Additional charges are pending.

Smart modern day parents. Who would search a baby's room. Very clever.

Being a medically retired Ca. cop who was injured in said 'war on drugs' the drugs won a long time ago. They were winning when I started my career. They were way ahead circa mid-90's remember the Crack Wars? The body count on that alone was astonishing.. Did the dead bodies have a dent? NO... What happened? You mean besides the implementation of "mandatory minimum sentences? Remember that the crack epidemic was mostly ruinous to inner cities. (further keeping down the black male) And then the intro of methamphetamine, was found to be cheaper than crack, and the "high" lasted a lot longer leading to a bunch of 3 a.m. lawn mowing and finally settling down and fix those 11 television and radios they took apart.
The drugs have won and with our consumption of intoxicants it has made a mess of our neighbors to the south. With that being typed, it would help if we knew more of the circumstances. In one sense, the presence of any type of living plant would clean the air. In the other sense you have an infant in the development stages growing their lungs.
I got hurt while working undercover narcotics. The only marijuana cases we dealt with in my 4+ yrs working dope was #1) disgruntled ex-girlfriend dimed out her ex and #2) Theft of electricity to the tune of $240k In #1 all the overtime, dismantling of the guy's gear, time and energy.. 'drugs won'

Yeah, can't have a three week old baby climb up on the counters and eat the loose pot and pick the plants. The plants in the room are healthy, they exchange co2 for fresh oxygen. If pot were legal it would be growing outside.

So, keeping plants in the same room as a baby is bad because...? It isn't like they were running a Meth lab. you can't get intoxicated by being in the same room as a plant. The level of stupid out there is astounding.

LEGALIZE IT NOW!!! So everyone can be as stupid as these two.
03:43 AM on 04/20/2012
if it was legalized then people wouldnt be growing it in their kids rooms hidden away. They would be growing it outsitde. Its because its illegal why they have to hide it.

When are we going to start taking kids out of homes with a bar? Oh yeah. That didnt work. Destroyed allot of family's, turned allot of hard working tax payers into expensive inmates, and was steroids to organized crime.
Well maybe it'll work this time.... Eventually.
