David Chaney Greg Stokes Secret Service

Washington Post:

One of the Secret Service supervisors who was forced out of the agency this week for his involvement in the Colombia prostitution scandal made light of his official protective work on his Facebook page, joking about a picture of himself standing watch behind Sarah Palin.

David Randall Chaney, 48, posted several action shots of himself on duty in a dark suit and sunglasses, including one that shows him behind the former Republican vice presidential nominee during her 2008 campaign.

What this incident shows is that next time the secret service is overseas they should have someone who understands the local language so that there is no chance of something being lost in translation. And the should be current of the local exchange rate!

"Secret Service to Pay Ted Nugent a Visit." What a joke in light of this Secret Service scandal. What's the visit for to "party"? Talk about a loss of credibility. The "cowboys" in the SS are birds of a feather with Nugent.

I guess the Secret Service is not so secret, if he's posting pics of work on a Facebook page. What a bozo.

This isn't the first time the SS has been slack since Obama took office. Maybe they should start looking into those who would want that organization weaker. I am NOT a conspiracy theory advocate-but this scares me.

Unfortunately...this is nothing new for the secret service, and I doubt any other government agency, when they go abroad. My brother in law is a secret service agent and I have heard him and his other agent friends talk. The agents were DUMB enough and arogant enough to not pay for their "services rendered" in the drug capital of the world...can you spell STUPID!!! Anyone involved deserves to lose their jobs.

This is an election year and the GOP is using this to make it look like the Obama administration has lost control of the government. Just another GOP game!!

I wonder how often their wives and girlfriends have been tested for STD's or HIV? The agents have serious fidelity issues and NO morals!

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? Who ya gonna call? You want the job? Didn't think so. They're young and dumb. I've known armies of those.

He's 48. If the mandatory retirement age for the SS is 70, then sure, he's young.

Why the Obama picture with this story vs. a picture of the agents?

Seriously, other than bragging by the Secret Service agents about their connection with Obama (for security reasons), I don't see the problem with this issue other than the bragging by the Sec. I mean, didn't the US pass a new trade agreement with Colombia last year? And with Obama's strident support!
http://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/obama-gets-win-as-congress-passes-free-trade-agreements/2011/10/12/gIQAGHeFgL_story.html

And these Americans were simply engaging in a bit of foreign trade with entrepreneurs from our improved-status-trading-partner-country. Heck, Team Obama should proclaim these happenings as a sign of improved trade relations with our very friendly Latina American neighbors under that trade agreement. I mean, it IS a FREE trade agreement, right? Well, let's see:

http://jamaica-gleaner.com/gleaner/20120418/cleisure/cleisure2.html

Heck, in Obama's own words from this article:
"We have never felt more excited about the prospects of working as equal partners with our brothers and sisters in Latin America and the Caribbean."

Admittedly, I'm not sure how equal the part-time partners of the Secret Service agents were, and it would be creepy if they thought of them as "sisters". But hey. Trade is trade, right? So perhaps Obama should take a cue from that eminent Hollywood philosophy Charley Sheen and declare these happenings as evidence of "winning".

For the first time I feel sorry for Sarah Palin, in that her Secret Service agent described her in such vulgar terms. Totally wrong!

She continues to tout the 'boys will be boys' line, so I can't say I feel sorry for her.

David Chaney was one of the most arrogant agents in the agency. He belittles those below his GS level and feels entitled to do as he wants. What goes around comes around!

To me this "secret service uproar" seems like a tempest in a teapot-- probably being pushed by the media because, now that Santo's gone, the 2012 election cycle is being pretty boring. The
guys in Colombia behaved poorly. They should lose their jobs because of the way they represented America abroad. But, realistically, it was a bunch of guys who had finished their jobs and were waiting for the president to arrive. They hired prostitutes in a country where prostitution is legal, during their time off.

I really think this "scandal" is an attempt by the GOP to make it look like the morals of Washington have gone to he!! since the arrival of Obama.
