'Law & Order SVU': Chloe Sevigny Guest Stars

"Big Love" star Chloe Sevigny made a guest appearance on “Law and Order: SVU” (Wed., 10 p.m. ET on NBC) as Christine, a housewife accused of filing a false rape report.

Det. Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) had been suspicious of Christine's story from the start, and on the witness stand Christine defended herself against accusations of lying.

As her husband (played by "Mad Men" star Rich Sommer) looked on, Christine told ADA Casey Novak (Diane Neal), "What you see on that tape is me fighting for my life.”

But, it turned out that Olivia was right all along and that Christine was lying. In an interview with TV Guide, Sevigny described the character as “sociopathic” and “self-destructive.”

The actress also told HuffPost TV that she'd gone after a part in "SVU" on the recommendation of her good friend Natasha Lyonne, who guest-starred on the drama back in 2011.

Watch the criminal justice system at work on “Law and Order: SVU,” Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
