Police are searching for a cross-dressing thief who allegedly impersonated as a police officer to rob a woman outside a Chase bank in the Upper West Side.
Initially, the suspect was believed to be a woman in her 30's, but on Wednesday police revealed the bizarre twist that "she" was in fact a "he."
The suspect allegedly disguised himself by impersonating a female officer to approach the victim on March 13. He then took her wallet, grabbing her bank card, and then fled the scene.
Authorities said he used the same tactic to also gain access to a Harlem hospital the very same day.
The suspect can be seen in the surveillance video below donning a black wig and white cardigan to disguise his identity.
In February, three suspects robbed a Queens cash-checking service allegedly using professional, Hollywood-quality masks to impersonate police officers.
