Obama Sits Inside Rosa Parks Bus (PHOTO)

President Barack Obama sat Wednesday for a moment inside the Montgomery, Ala., city bus where Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat. The bus is currently housed at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan.

Obama later reflected on the moment at a fundraiser in suburban Detroit. "I just sat in there for a moment and pondered the courage and tenacity that is part of our very recent history but is also part of that long line of folks who sometimes are nameless, often times didn't make the history books, but who constantly insisted on their dignity, their share of the American dream," he said, according to a White House pool report.

A Seat On The Bus For Rosa (In Memorial)

Finally, it’s time to go,
All day I’ve pushed peddles with my feet,
I’ll hurry to the bus stop,
Being sure to get a good seat.

There, a chance to rest,
Home, I’m on my way,
Only to get up tomorrow,
And put in another day.

Photos, questions and fingerprints,
Did I commit a crime?
I distinctly remembered when I boarded,
Dropping in my dime.

Why give up my seat?
After working hard all day,
I thought the fare was the same for all,
Is there more I have to pay?

Don’t they know how hard I’ve worked?
To get this seat I had to rush,
Now you’re going to tell me,
Move to the back of the bus.

Wait, I pay my taxes,
Even go to church and pray,
They do not have the right,
To treat Rosa Parks this way.

I never wanted to start a movement,
Just have a seat on the bus,
Being treated fairly as an American,
Why is everyone making such a fuss?

My name is known throughout the world,
In history books here and there,
It really didn’t have to be me you know,
Just anyone who paid their fare.

And over 50 years later,
An Icon is my name,
I’d gladly do it all again,
Circumstances being the same.

Does anyone else notice the President sitting on the wrong seat? If you look at Exhibit "A" (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Rosaparks_busdiagram.jpg) in the Rosa Parks Wiki, you can clearly see that Obama is sitting on the driver's side if the bus when Parks sat on the door side of the bus. A clear example of how disconnected Obama is from the Civil Rights movement of the 50's-60's. Maybe it is just an homage to the unknown Black fellow that gave up his seat.

Reading the Wiki it was interesting to find out that Parks was a member of the NAACP at the time of the incident. We were taught and led to believe that she was just an ordinary citizen that was finally fed up with the system, not an activist. Another "truth" left out was that she did indeed give up her seat initially by moving over to the window seat. She did refuse to give up the 2nd seat but in reality, she initially capitulated to the Segregation. Means to the ends it matters little but it does illustrate how the actual truth is altered slightly to personify a more heroine (heroic) attitude.

The caption for the article should read, "Obama refuses to leave the White House". IT will be an interesting Election process in 3 years. If Hillary and the Democratic Party don't do an effective job at erasing the Benghazi gaff from the Public's memories, there won't be a viable Candidate.

Now if we could get Boener and the other Republican leaders to sit there with him, without mouths running off with their own self importance. Look inward to your selves for blame. Democrats have been the driving force to pushing manufacturing and commerce out of our Country. Detroit, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Milwaukee, Toledo, Cleveland, and other metropolis centers have been devastated by loss of manufacturing caused by the greed and corruption of the Federal Lawmakers.

What an awesome picture! The President of the United States, marking such an historical moment. I don't know if Rosa Parks ever envisioned that some day her small act would be remembered by a president. Her act helped the dominos to fall that would end up with our first African American president. I'm glad we made it through the horrific times of Rosa Parks and am proud to have lived to see Barack Obama become president. I had no doubt that our country had enough confidence in him to re-elect him. The world watched our election along with Americans and cheered with us. I am proud this intelligent man of honor and dignity is the leader of the United States of America, President Barack Obama.

On the anniversary of the Blo/ody Sunday march in Selma, Ala., BHO claimed his parents united as a direct result of the civil rights movement:

‘There was something stirring across the country because of what happened in Selma, Ala., because some folks are willing to march across a bridge. So they got together and Barack Obama Jr. was born.’

Obama was born in 1961. The Selma march took place in 1965.

I wonder what it felt like to sit on the bus that changed history, for Black Americans? Where one courageous woman made a decision that would never, ever be forgotten. So sweet that he is honoring the Civil Rights icon while he continues to aggressively deny Gay Americans the same rights as all of the other citizens of this country and obviously feels that it is OK to keep them in the back (or middle) of the bus.

Before anyone points out DADT...- all that did was give us the right to be blown to bits in a war in the desert. But not to marry the one we love.

Rosa Park was a great American lady and with her willingness to stand up and fight she helped change America for the better. This was another photo opportunity for Obama plain and simple and it reminds people of our past and creates anger. I hope you feel better by calling people names and I guess your happy with our unemployment rate, gasoline and grocery prices along with the + 15 trillion this country is in debt. If we ran our households like Obama runs this country we would be bankrupt.Our country will be next if we dont change things now.
