Son Leaves Mom Insane Letter About Loud Alarm Clock, Lack Of Sleep (PHOTO)

The Huffington Post  |  By Posted: 04/19/2012 2:25 pm Updated: 04/21/2012 12:13 am

Apparently someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed.

In a detailed letter to his mother, one son plots the epic demise of his mom's "damnable" alarm clock.

The somewhat poetic author notes that if the "hellish cries of such a horrible instrument" continue to wake him up, he "will have no hesitation in wrapping it soundly in a plastic bag before dashing it into numerous pieces upon the driveway."

The rant continues for several paragraphs, before the author closes in a softer tone, reminding his mother that her banana bread is fantastic.

Nevertheless, plenty of commenters on Reddit felt the son needed a lesson in good manners. And while mom's response remains unknown, it remains to be seen whether she'll be as frustrated as Tommy Jordan, the dad who shot his daughter's laptop after she posted a Facebook message complaining about her parents.

What do you think of this son's letter? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below.

I loved this letter. You have no idea how many young people his age cannot spell, let alone make up prose like this! Sounds like they have a good relationship and he appreciates her. And...he has a point. He made the request with humor.

Alarm clock, $20. Satisfaction in smashing an annoying one to pieces, priceless.

I would dearly love to know the age of this 'oldest son' - I can't guess from the penmanship, but he really has a fine command of the English language and some appropriate and interesting words! People say those who curse do so because the don't have a good vocabulary, but well, this is a good vocabulary, and sometimes a few curses are necessary to adequately share the frustration. I hope Mum was amused by it - I most certainly am!

Omg! this letter should be sent to some politicians, so they could learn how to negotiate on highly risky issues..

I understand completely! My moms alarm clock started everyday at 5:05 AM. It was usually between radio stations and was a static mixture of two songs. She would keep it as loud as the damn thing could go and STILL manage to sleep through it. And when it did finally wake her she would hit snooze about 5 times. The neighbors love it too.

I'm laughing so hard that I'm crying.

There's something terribly sweet about this letter. Even though he curses the alarm clock, he's not cursing his mother- just letting her know very eloquently how he feels.

As to those offended by the cursing, let's face it. Kids are surrounded by cursing these days. It doesn't mean much anymore. He's just being open (and very, very funny) with his mom.

If my son wrote me this note, I'd laugh and be pretty proud of his use of language. The ending? So he uses a few curse words. He was talking about the alarm clock, NOT his mother. I'm actually happy he has such a good relationship with his mom that he CAN talk freely with her.

Obviously the relationship this boy has with his mother is a good one. If he were my child, I'd be very proud of his eloquence.

Hahaha, this kid is amazing. His letter is not insane, it is what almost anybody feels when woken up by something obnoxious - he just has the guts and time to write an entertaining letter about it.
