Spirit Airlines Ad Uses Secret Service Prostitution Scandal To Sell Flights To Colombia (PHOTO)

Spirit Airlines doesn't shy away from scandals. Instead, it uses them to sell tickets.

The budget airline's latest "More Bang for your Buck" promotion makes use of the U.S. Secret Service's recent prostitution scandal in Latin America by offering one-way flights to Cartagena, Colombia, starting at $19.80.

The Spirit ad depicts an agent in front of four scantily glad women, presumably poking fun at the discovery that U.S. military personel and Secret Services members had been in hotel rooms with at least 20 women just before the President arrived for a summit with Latin American leaders. One of the sex workers also alleged that a Secret Service agent did not pay her in full.

In May 2011, Spirit released an ad in light of the Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenneger split. The ad poked fun at Schwarzenegger's "love child", a son, he fathered nearly 20-years earlier with a member of his household staff, Mildred Patricia Baena. Spirit's ad stated: "Fares so low, you can take the whole family... including that half brother you just met."

The airline has also mocked the likes of Tiger Woods, Charlie Sheen, Rob Blagojevich and former Congressman Anthony Weiner in their ads.

It's such a shame. Cartagena is so much more than this. The more people play on it the more the place is going to be swamped by sex tourists. We don't want that at www.ticartagena.com. There's so much more to talk about and see in Cartagena than the seedy side.

I visited Cartagena 2 yrs. ago...The historical area was clean, safe and well policed. I would go back tomorrow...We flew on Avianca and it was reasonably priced...Spirit has a dreadful reputation but, I do like the ad.

So atleast the service provided a lot of free services to the country of Colombia, the whole world knows their open trade of Dr---- gs, and now the efforts of the agent DUG up, there is another hidden attraction added to the tourism stars for that country. JOB WELL DONE. Atleast, if nothing was achieved in that elite convention, tourism industry of Colombia got a big boost.

That reminds me that couple of years ago the opponent of Governor of Illinois, during the reelection campaign, had a TV AD that ran so frequently, that everyone got tired of listening but it has become so relevant in this story ---------- WHAT WAS THE GOVERNOR THINKING-------- so with a little change ------WHAT WERE THE SERVICE REPS THINKING ??? THAT'S ALL FOLKS.

That advert for that airline is hilarious and very much like the teaser ads for some of the spy dramas on TV using female leads. It certainly draws attention to an airline that I've never heard of before.

What I like most is the statement "Upfront Payment is Required", good ad. They could have called the Men In Black round-trip.
