Chicago Area Cats, Dogs & Other Pets Up For Adoption (4/20) (PHOTOS)

Posted: 04/20/2012 5:26 pm Updated: 04/20/2012 5:26 pm

We know that practically every week we say this -- but this week's roundup of local adoptable animals might seriously be our favorite bunch yet.

From Miniature Pinscher to Great Pyrenees, Russian Blue to Rex, this is a diverse crop of pets currently staying in Chicago-area animal shelters with the hopes that they might soon be taken away to a new, "furever" home.

Scroll down to check out photos of Chicagoland cats, dogs and other pets that are currently up for adoption at a number of area shelters.

If this slideshow doesn't satisfy your cute animal fix, be sure to check out past features linked below the gallery either by scrolling down or clicking here. Many of the previously featured animals remain homeless.
