Earth Day is an opportunity for us to give back, to educate and to have fun doing it. We all leave a footprint on the planet, no matter how big or small, and April 22 is our opportunity to try to do something about it.

Whether you're taking your kids to make a recycled piggy bank in Pasadena or if you want to do some sun salutations in Santa Monica, there's something for you in this list. Our personal favorite is the K-EARTH 101 celebration at the LA Zoo -- after all, the radio station does share the same namesake!

Browse Earth Day 2012 ideas for you, your family or friends, and if none of these spark your fancy -- try a vegan restaurant like Real Food Daily or just get outside and take in some sun!
