Carlton Dance
Alfonso Ribeiro leads a flash mob in the 'Carlton Dance' that he made famous on 'The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air.'

TMZ:

It started with just a lonesome Alfonso Ribeiro doing the "Carlton Dance" in L.A., but suddenly, hundreds of people rushed in and joined in on the Tom Jonesness, and it was AWESOME.

It all went down at the Universal Studios City Walk in Hollywood -- where the former "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" star was leading a group that tried to break the record for the most people in North America flash mobbing at the same time. Similar groups performed at the exact same time all over the country.

I wonder how much appearance fee did Alfonso Ribeiro commanded since he doesn’t have a steady paycheck anymore.

I love Alfonso Ribeiro and the Carlton Dance. This would have been more fun if they had just sampled all the various Carlton dances from the Fresh Prince. The challenge, though, is that those dances are harder than they look. Alfonso is a trained dancer from a very young age. You figure out how hard those dances really are when you try to replicate them!

LOL. I still remember the Fresh Prince of Bel Air episode when he and Will Smith did the "Apache dance". I laughed so hard I cried! I think Carlton was the best character on the show.

Carlton was HILLARIOUS.

Should have had a spin-off on his character.

Definitely!

I was on YouTube last night watching a compilation of the shows funniest moments and bloppers. Carlton was in most of the scenes. My cheeks still hurt from laughing.

If you haven't already seen it, you should check in out of YouTube.

The Carlton dance is not tgecsrlton dance. Its the white people's dance. Why no one is taking credit for it??

Alfonso Ribiero (sp?) is really an EXCELLENT dancer, but I thought this whole thing fell kind flat. HE didn't seem to have that same dopey exuberance on his face that he used to have when he was playing Carlton (which was a huge part of why the dance was so funny to begin with.)
