Countries With The Most Plastic Surgery Per Capita (PHOTOS)

Posted: 04/23/2012 5:02 pm Updated: 04/24/2012 7:57 am

More Americans undergo plastic surgery than people in any other country in the world.

But when countries' populations are taken into account, five other nations have more cosmetic surgeries per capita than the U.S., according to data from Trend Monitor and graphed by The Economist.

The list differs somewhat from one compiled by Cosmetic Surgery Today, which only looks at the total number of people going under the knife.

See which countries made the list below:

Your article is wrong. Surgeons only report total number of procedures and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery only tracks by total procedures

Most women get multiple procedures and it's impossible to know what the actual per capita numbers are. Also the numbers for the US and Korea do not reflect the population since those are the 2 largest surgery centers for foreign nationals

What your article should have said is that Korea has the largest number of PROCEDURES for its population. Which is NOT the same as per capita.

You can't just reblog some false report just because it was in the Economist without even looking at the original data. There's actually NO per capita information at all because of confidentiality issues. Learn2blog

The countries of Tokyo and Mexico City? HP, Newt Gingrich suggested using child labor, but he was referring to janitorial work, not news editing.

Since this society places such a value on appearance, I wonder if future marriages will require some kind of verification on this issue? How terrible to have a baby with big ears or a funny nose when you were expecting a little someone with "perfect" features!

Oh, they definitely SHOULD know. Most pathetic editing (and writing) staff on the planet. But good experience for getting a job with Fox.
