This is sad and unfortunately not too uncommon.

A friend called earlier today and out of her depression, began crying. The sadness in her voice was eery and I could sense she was rapidly arriving at that dark place of wanting it all to end. Chronic illness, ensuing pain, pharmaceuticals with a host of adverse reactions (often including depression), loneliness and feeling like a burden on a caregiver (no matter how loving and supportive s/he is) is hard life-stuff.

I loved his show and remember him well, I think if you have pain, day in and day out, there should be help available for assistance, if you want to go. Why should anyone suffer, because the government tells you to.

I remember my best friend and I watching Soul Train when it first came on, we loved every kind of music and later started our first Band. The Show open our minds and I'm sure others as well.

Assisted suicide ought to be available for people in this circumstance. It's sad that he didn't have the legal choice to die with dignity and compassion, and without violence.

It's a shame he was in so much pain with little relief ... may he be at peace now.

Kinda bugged me after reading the "article" as it says "The autopsy report also reveals that Cornelius pulled the trigger from his left temple and the bullet exited his right temple." However, the actual quotes from the autopsy in this FOUR paragraph article state the gun was found in his right hand and "...bullet entrance contact wound to the right temple. I saw what appears to be an exit wound to the upper left side of his head." Does NewsOne share HP writers?

Yes, it is terrible, pain can push a reasonable person to the edge. He's someone most of us grew up with.

And you're about the writing skills, too. Bagged hands have no connotations other than checking for gun powder and finger prints.
