Los Angeles Animal Rescue: 9 LA Dogs In Need Of Homes Today

The Huffington Post  |  By Posted: 04/25/2012 4:43 pm Updated: 04/26/2012 4:48 pm

More than 17,000 healthy or treatable animals were killed in Los Angeles shelters last year. And while City Council members and Angelenos come together to make Los Angeles a No-Kill City, there are still tens of thousands of animals that are already in shelters and sanctuaries that need homes now.

HuffPost LA is launching a monthly series where we will feature local animals that are available for adoption. This month we begin with 9 adorable dogs from our local Best Friends Animal Shelter that are in need of a home. For more information on adoption please visit the How To Adopt section of the Best Friends website.

To meet more adoptable animals in person, Best Friends will be at the La Brea Tar Pits for Pet Super Adoption on April 28 and 29.

Beetlejuice (aka BB)
Age: 3 years
Breed: Pit Bull Mix
Time at shelter: 22 weeks

BB is a long-time resident of Best Friends Pet Adoption Center, and a staff favorite. He always aims to please. This big guy is very strong, and still practicing leash manners. He could very easily be housebroken. BB is excellent with adults and kids, preferring their company to other dogs. Accordingly, BB is looking for a home where he can be the only four-legged friend, and most importantly a bountiful snack supply!
