Mark Sanchez, Santonio Holmes Booed At Knicks-Clippers Game

It turns out Tim Tebow isn't the only Jets player with work to do to get some love from New York fans. Not long after Tebow was booed at a Yankees game, Mark Sanchez and Santonio Holmes sparked a similar reaction among New York sports fans when they attended Wednesday night's Knicks-Clippers game.

According to various reports, boos rained down on the two Jets when they were shown on the Garden JumboTron during the first quarter.

Per Ian Begley of ESPNNewYork.com, Antonio Cromartie was in attendance as well but was shown separately. Neither commented after the game.

When the JumboTron introduced Chris Snee of the Super Bowl-winning New York Giants, the crowd apparently gave the offensive lineman a standing ovation.

Perhaps that's a sign of where New Yorkers' hears truly lie when it comes to the NFL.

So they're tied in boos. The Yankee fans hate Tebow and the Knicks hate Sanchez. Now it's up to the Mets, Rangers and Nets to decide.

If this were in Boston, Sanchez would have been cheered wildly.

Where are all the Tebow haters today?  In the article about Tebow being booed at a Yankees game, you chose to ignore the fact that most Yankee fans are Giants fans and instead mocked him for being Religious in a "liberal" city.  I don't supposed Mark Sanchez and Santonio Holmes are also being booed for the religious beliefs...

?

Most Tebow supporters claimed it was godless, liberal New Yorkers raining hate on Timmy.

In both cases, it was probably guys having a few beers deciding to have some fun -- nothing to do with politics or religion.

that was not knicks fans .boooing..it was classless giant looser fans.........

They booed Sanchez because he has a Hispanic surname.

No? Makes as much sense as when people swore up and down that they booed Tebow because he is a Christian.

Like I said then, Ny'ers are notoriously rude.

Not at all. New Yorkers are direct. No one here has time for silliness. The Jets have been all show and no go. The crux of the matter is that the most fans in the Garden will be Giant fans. (you know, the team that won the SB.) New Yorkers admire grit and Sanchez has shown none of that.

Knicks fans would boo Jesus Christ if you put him up on the big screen.

I remember the first time I visited New York. Walking down the street, I waived and said hello to a few people (I'm from the South) before I realized...you don't just say hello to strangers In New York. Lol!

Must be all that concrete that make them irritable.

Face it, The Giants own that town. They always have and always will.

It was never called Jet's Stadium for a reason!

Yeah right.....shows how smart NY'ers are then.....

"The only thing New York about the Giants is the ‘NY’ on their helmets. They train in New Jersey, they play in New Jersey and most of their players live in New Jersey," Christie said in a Jan. 22 interview on NBC's "Meet the Press."
