The monk casually strolling through the compound filled with tigers on short chains is tragic. He should be ashamed.

The Thai monk photo is interesting. Casually strolling through tiger compound with cane and walkie talkie...calling for help, "Please, anyone, I was conducting my daily walking meditation and inadvertently wandered into the tiger cage. I fear they are planning on becoming one with me. HELP!!!"
And I also enjoyed the Vietnamese weight lifter. For 8 years I have lived with Vietnamese, here and in Vietnam, and I have noted even the most petite have prodigious strength.

Buddhist monks with technology, they always crack me up. I once met a group while hiking at Mt. Rainier NP. They were all equipped with state-of-the-art professional DSLR's and exotic lenses. No less than $50k worth of photographic gear... I think they trust their fellow humans a tad too much... ;)

Buddhists love technology and science. When I was living in a small village in Vietnam last year, all the local monks had computers. When we traveled to visit temples they all had their digital cameras and cell phones. And we had fun playing pranks on one another. Sense of humor another good quality of monks. They told funny stories that were worthy of Comedy Central.
