John Kasich Private Development Plan In Legal Limbo

A private economic development agency created by Gov. John Kasich to move "at the speed of business" has been slowed to a near halt in obtaining its start-up money as it awaits the outcome of a lawsuit.

How wonderful - a state funded plan to create a private entity for the purpose of using public funding derived from state liquor proceeds without any accountability due to withholding documents from public view.

My father - an 89 year old lifelong republican hates everything that Kasich has done. He can't imagine why anybody would do something so stupid as giving away all of the revenue that the State makes in liquor sales to a private wholesaler which is then supposed to use the money to create jobs. What a STUPID idea. Were're going to take 9 to 12 billion dollars in revenue that the State would collect in the next 25 years and hand it over to a private company for 1.5 billion dollars. That makes sense how?

I would love to read a simple synopsis of the origin of this deal and the updates as described above as it is a fascinating mess. I read months ago about K's selling off the liquor sales for next 25 yrs based on what, an idea? Meanwhile a fortune is given to his crony Kvamme to manage in an entity about Jobs. Mortgaging the future? Isn't that the very thing they accuse Dem policies of doing? I am developing greater respect for republican AG DeWine throughout the last few months.

Yes - the governor is giving away 9 to 12 billion of revenue that the State would collect over the next 25 years for 1.5 billion. The revenue will then go to a private wholesaler which will collect the profits and then use them for 'job creation'. Does that make sense? No.

Kasich likes to keep all kinds of things quiet and out of the eye of public. He fortified his own residence, refusing to live in the already fortified govenor's mansion, and we, the people of Ohio, paid for it. It clearly was the start to his fleecing of Ohioans.

If Ohio had a recall provision in it's State Constitution Kasich would be gone now and not in 2014 when he certainly will be voted out.He single handidly converted a formerly solid Republican base,cops and firefighters,into staunch Dems with his union busting SB5 attempt which was defeated 65-35%. Walker at least had the sense not to throw the cops and firefighters under that bus.
Mitt has a real problem in Ohio and standing next to Kasich will only make matters worse.
