My dear and respected brothers and sisters at arms: I am not going to throw myself out to whatever Republicans offer as an alternative to what used to be a bi-partisan DREAM Act. The path to citizenship shouldn't be taken out of any possible proposal. As much as we fear automatic deportation and being separated from our families, we should avoid giving the impression that the only thing we're looking for is being "legal." We have a unique opportunity to push any party, any political affiliation or any opposition to do the right thing. If we just take what they consider fair, we will be settling for less than we truly deserve. We need a path to citizenship to prove most of our arguments in favor of the DREAM Act. Otherwise, we will be seen as opportunistic individuals. And, nothing is further from the truth. In solidarity, Erick Lastarria.

Rubio tossed this phony bill out there so he could say to the Hispanics community he tried to help them ,but got shot down, but vote for me when I run with romney and I will have more power to get it done when i'm vp,The Hispanics should ask him,why didn't romney, who is now the leader of the gop stand up for him and back his bill to get it passed, everytime I turn on the tv I see him and romney together,so why weren't they together on this ? Rubio is getting pimped by romney, but instead of sending him out on the streets to get him money, he is sending him out to get him votes.

Slapped down by his own party! This just confirms that this light weight pseudo Hispanic doesn't have the credibility nor the political might to change anything! He will not get the Hispanic vote! He will get the Miami Cuban Republican vote because that's his base well besides the Baggers, who he has betrayed also!

Rubio got his - out of trouble with Mitt card, when Boehner shot down his proposal yesterday. He has now been cleared and is in the running for the VP spot. His biggest obstacle? Jeb?

Rubio is Latino and taking big pressure from Latino community and he know at some point he has to go home. Rubio know the real deal he has been living in the south long enough to know that crowd very well. Allen West say he is not going home and don't care if his family and use to be friends ever visit him.

Pretty much everything the GOP does is calculated, disingenuous and a means to an end. It certainly is not about We the People (unless of course you are in the 1%).

Rubio, you of all people should know that you are a convenience when needed by the GOP. To strike out on your own with the Party you affilate yourself with will be your own undoing. Rubio you've turn your back on your hispanic brethern to join the very party that oppresses all ethnic backgrounds. Rubio, you'll be shuned by all who support your efforts up to the point when decide to become republican. Rubio you'll need your the American people before they'll need you.

And this is one of Mitt Romney's potential VP candidates. This guy comes across as a wet nosed altar boy. I guess Romney could see him going to North Korea to negotiate with its' new boy leader. They could play Modern Warfare video game, winner takes all. The Russians and Chinese are laughing with delight.

I thought Rubio was smarter than that, he is just another pawn for the GOP, they will chew him up and spit him out if he cannot boost the Latino vote...bye bye Rubio- you are done!

what they don't know is...he cannot boost the hispanic vote. there is nothing he has to offer than will attract anyone beyond those who voted for him in florida.

then throw in the fact that he was the co-sponsor of blunt's 'let ceos decide what healthcare women should get' amendment and now the fact that he voted against the new version of vawa, which would grant amnesty to undocumented victims of domestic violence. no chance at all.
