Michele Bachmann: Nancy Pelosi's Latest Attack On GOP For War On Women Is 'Pathetic'

Michele Bachmann Nancy Pelosi

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) shot back at House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi on Thursday, claiming that Pelosi's move to connect a GOP student loan plan to the so-called Republican war on women was "pathetic."

"She wants to continue this fiction that every Democrat messenger is trying to put forward, which is there's a war on women,” Bachmann told Fox Business Network’s Neil Cavuto. “There is no war on women. There's never been a war on women."

On Thursday, Pelosi lambasted the recently announced Republican bill, which would keep student loan rates at their current levels by pulling money from a public health fund included in President Barack Obama's health care law. Democrats had originally proposed covering the estimated $6 billion cost by closing a tax loophole that lets certain wealthy people avoid paying Medicare taxes, but Republicans countered by targeting what House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) called an Obamacare "slush fund."

"He's calling it a slush fund," Pelosi said of Boehner's proposal during a press conference. "Well, it may be a slush fund to him, but it's survival to women. It's survival to women. That just goes to show you what a luxury he thinks it is to have good health. We do not agree."

Bachmann went on to attack Pelosi's strategy in her interview, accidentally referring to her as the "Speaker of the House" and accusing Democrats of perpetuating a "political fiction" in order to cater to women voters.

The House passed the GOP's student loan proposal on Friday by a vote of 215 to 195. The White House has threatened to veto the bill.

Several republican women also claim the WOW isn't real. Newflash it is and they will pay for this war by losing seats in the congress and across the nation.

Bachmann who would be a perfect fit as Mitt's VEEP, by the way has a voice worse than nails on a chalkboard or even a Palin whiny word salad, has no grasp of actual history or the founding father's and that whole slavery thing- must be well loved in the district..she does better and better with each election. I'd love to know how..........

For once I agree with Michele Bachmann when she called Pelosi Speaker of the House. We agree that Boehner's just keeping that gavel warm.

I think Michele was projecting again. You know, calling Nancy Pathetic when she's really speaking about herself -- (explanation given for Tea Party illiterate).

Bachmann: “There is no war on women. There's never been a war on women."

So, now you know why Bachmann came in last in the Republican Presidential race. Which was good news to the GOP crowd that had been holding their breath pending her final results along with Ricko Sanatorium.

I have even tried to pray her away nothing works. Hard to decide who her or Palin is the dumbest and more hate filled. I would say MB Pail just out for money

I just want to say how inspired I am by Representative Bachmann.

I mean, to be able to breathe without the use of machinery and to maintain the use of something as complex as speech with the limited brain function that she has is truly remarkable!

Well done madame, well done!

What do you expect. After all, she was a tax attorney and raised 23 children. Just in case you hadn't heard that before.

Bachmann never spends much time in Congress (only 35 bills in her years in Congress, none out of committee and she is on the fewest committees of any member of the Minnesota delegation) so I doubt she knows who the current Speaker of the House might be.

Pathetic ? Isn't this the Michele Bachman whose clinics "cure gays" and who claims to have raised 23 children and thinks Pelosi is speaker of the house?

Bachmann has the I.Q of a tree stump......thats wrong....lets say of dirt instead!

Go away, go away, go away. It is women like Bachmann and Palin that drive back decades of hard work to bring about equality for women. Bachmann brings nothing to the conversation and of all people she is not in a position to criticize it is Pelosi. She couldn't even keep up with Pelosi in a one on one conversation.

Miss Bachmann, for "real" women, there is a "real" war being fought against them by the republican party. You're failure to see this is disingenuous, but you've dug your designer heels in, and must now tow the party line with the usual oft-repeated rhetoric.

It's time you turn off your Batman phone and take a little time to self reflect. You might be surprised that you too, are a woman, and its within you to be wise and compassionate.

If Bachmann is trying to prove she is smart, we already know how much intelligence she lacks. She was the nominee at the bottom of the barrel always. Pelosi can think for herself unlike Bachmann who is the typical stepford wife who knows how to smile but doesn't have a clue about being a person with her own mind.
