Betty White Endorses Howard Berman In California Congressional Race

Betty White is a fan of Rep. Howard Berman's (D-Calif.) "very nice blue eyes."

The former "Golden Girl" praises them -- and Berman's animal-rights record -- with fellow actress Wendie Malick in an ad released Monday.

Berman, who was redistricted into a contentious, expensive race against Rep. Brad Sherman (D-Calif.), has a long list of Hollywood supporters, and estimated the industry would account for a fifth of his fundraising.

Berman also picked up a less glitzy endorsement Monday from the Los Angeles Times.

I like Betty White as an comedienne/actress but her endorsement of Berman did nothing but make me wonder how old he is. (He was born in 1941, I learned.)

I agree with you about the insurance companies. But Betty is such a nice person - she looks for the good and probably buys the AARP's PR that they serve old people. The AARP is a front organization run by big business to further inslave American old people. It's a very profitable non-profit, paying huge salaries to its corporate rules. It assembles and sells senior contact information for large corporations wanting to market to old people - like health insurance companies, auto insurance, etc., etc.

Peel up the corner of it's PR and you see a very nasty organization, really perpetuating itself. What began as a true representative for seniors has become a money-making, high-salary- paying front man for the health, retirement, insurance, and consumer sales markets. Sad.

Betty White is a good actress and seems like a not person. I do not know for sure as I never met her but taking her endorsement for a politician would be no better than taking one from my pet Airedale.
