Of One Direction's many accomplishments -- which include ensnaring an international fanbase, topping the charts, breaking records, and causing riots at airports -- keeping up unceasingly amusing Twitter accounts is certainly one of their most notable. In fact, we'll even go so far as to declare that the boys of One Direction are veritable Twitter poets, at times. The status updates from their individual handles (@Real_Liam_Payne, @Harry_Styles, @Louis_Tomlinson, @NiallOfficial, and @zaynmalik) range from nonsensical Lewis Carroll-esque stories, to quick and haiku-worthy quips, to deep and philosophical life lessons.
Each of the boys also has their own distinct Twitter personality: Zayn is the most emo and existentialist of the group, Niall's tweets bear resemblance to short-form Zen poetry ("not feeling the best! sore all over! under the weather as they say!"), and Harry enjoys tweeting about what he's currently eating or attempting to eat ("carrot cake in my phone speaker"). It's best not to try to make sense of Liam's frequently absurdist tweets, and ditto with Louis, who uses "#zap" and "x" without explanation.
