BAGRAM AIR FIELD, Afghanistan -- President Barack Obama is telling troops in Afghanistan that Osama bin Laden got his justice one year ago, as the president stirs up memories of his signature foreign policy victory in a secret trip to this war zone.

Obama told the troops: "The reason America is safe is because of you."

The president hailed the agreement he just signed with Afghan President Hamid Karzai (HAH'-mihd KAHR'-zeye) in Kabul, calling it a responsible transition to Afghans taking control of their own country. He says the change won't happen overnight because the U.S. will not risk the gains so many have sacrificed to achieve.

Obama's surprise trip Tuesday to Afghanistan coincided with the one-year anniversary of the U.S. raid in Pakistan that killed bin Laden, the al-Qaida (al-KAH'-ee-duh) leader.

You said that last year Obama. Stop using this war as a political tool to get reelected. Pull our troops out now and bring them home. Enough is enough. You got Osama. Stop tooting your horn and holding your nose high in the air. No one cares about your BIG ego. lol

We are right here. It's just that we are not as upset when "mission accomplished" means the bad guy was captured and killed.

I, for one give credit to Barack Hussein Obama for becoming president of these United States despite a blank resume, no management experience, an essentially absentee 3 1/2 year senatorial tenure, being the 2004 keynote speaker at the Democratic convention when virtually noone ever heard of him, the lie that he was still paying off this college loans as late as 9 years ago when in fact he was earning in excess of $200k a year as yearly as the year 2000....
I am not concerned with this silver tongued pretender as I am with who really are his puppetmasters and there are many.

Sometimes people just come out of nowhere and are suddenly President. Look at Jimmy Carter.

He did what! He went over there to rub it in their faces that he killed bid laden on the anniversary. And we are surprised that they retaliated and people are dead because of him. Did you ever hear Bush take personal credit for the military? No, he gave credit to the soldiers. For the first time in my life, I'm ashamed of my country.

Would just like the potus to spend more time working on the problems we have here at home. Like jobs and please don't tell me that they have created jobs. Also the US debt, unemployment which is only down because a lot of people have run out of benefits so they don't count anymore. This man has taken more vacations in four years than any of us could afford in ten years. Every time you read the papers his is on one trip or another. Would love to know just how much time he has spent here in the US.
07:38 AM on 05/02/2012
With technology the way it is, there is no time he isn't working.
And for your last sentence you should do the research, I'll bet you'll find Bush led that category..
01:09 PM on 05/02/2012
Give me a break, is everything Bush's fault? Right now all this man is doing is trying to get elected again. This has been his agenda since he became president.
05:43 PM on 05/02/2012
By all means continue with the Bush Card, that will kill Obama's reelection attempt more than anything else. People are tired of hearing it was Bush's fault nearly 4 years into Obama's Presidency. Obama wanted the job, no one forced it on him, it is about time he quits blaming everyone and everything else for him not accomplishing what he promised.

What a safe comment. Either side can use it. You don't have to know a blooming thing to use it. Don't even have to read the article, right?

In other words, it is a non-comment with zero value.

Is it? Let's examine some of the things this president has done.
1. He promised to close Gitmo.. but it's still open
2. He promised to quit using gov resources to police marijuana in free med use states and then stepped up prosecution of their state legal despensaries.
3. He created Obamacare, where you will be required to pay an independant company's CEO for his new yacht and still recieve substandard healthcare and you OPT IN by breathing.
4. He sighed into LAW a bill that gives him the right to indefinitely detain an American Citizen without recourse to a lawyer, not even a phone call home. He said he wouldn't use it but how would we know if they can't contact anyone? For all we know, he's got people locked up in Gitmo right now.
5. He apologizes for the American People all over the world like we are someone he is ashamed of and that makes me, for one, ashamed of him.

Chew on those for a while and if you need more, I have more. This is the worst sitting president that we've ever had. I don't think Romney will be any better. Let's vote for the other party this time and see what happens.. RON PAUL 2012

When you consider that his massive spending will affect our grandchildren and maybe more, it's true. And if HCR isn't repealed for being unconstitutional, it will greatly affect lives due to the monumental taxes hidden it it. Add the age cap for seniors, and it's going to take a toll in ways not expected by most people yet. Last, his divisive comments and behavior is going to be the undoing of this country if he gets his way. Socialism for sure ------and then some.

drillsgtmark ----" One question, name a single politician that does not play that dumb game?
-----------

Name a single president who had to blame every burp on someone that preceded him. The surest sign of character is a man who can own up to his own mistakes. And the lack of it is well demonstrated by the chronic scapegoater.

"The buck stops here" remains one of America's favorite quotes because it reminds us of our responsible leaders of the past.
06:04 AM on 05/02/2012
George Bush, Bill Clinton, Ronald Reagan, Eisenhower, Johnson, Kennedy and all the rest. They all ran against the other party's record, so who do you think they blamed, idiot.
05:55 PM on 05/02/2012
Big difference in running for election as a first timer and blaming the opponent, then running as a sitting President, and still blame a past President 4 years after becoming the President. Looks like you are calling the wrong person the idiot. How many years should we give a President before actually holding them accountable for their own record. People elected a guy in 2008 based upon what he said about fixing things, if he told everyone that he would just blame everything that goes wrong with his Presidency on everyone else, he would never had been elected in the first place.

Here's a potential presidential canidate who fit's every bit of your question. And when he is elected he will be the first in a very very very long time to fit that description. RON PAUL. Yeah I know. Nut case. But after a whole lot of research it turns out the man is the only honest and ligit canidate who has ever run for president for over a hundred years. So if called, I will proudly agree, I am now a nut case too. Gotta love the man for his integrity and truth. For over 30 years. Do some homework. You may find that you are a nut case too.
06:03 PM on 05/02/2012
Ron Paul is like Ralph Nader was, an interesting diversion with some ideas, that enjoys running for an office that he could never win. He sure makes a nice buck off the attempt every four years. Eventually he will end the charade, like all the rest of the fringe folks. It is about time for a leftist to pop up on the fringe again every four years, they seem to take turns. Since the old mayor of Cleveland, Dennis Kucinich lost his job, he might run now.

Poetic Justice I would assume he's talking about. How many soldiers died? How many trillions of dollars spent? How many young lives shattered? How many new generations of terrorist have we spawned? He got revenge but at what cost?
