After weeks of blind auditions, battle rounds and biting remarks from Christina Aguilera, it was time to reveal the finalists of Season 2 of NBC's "The Voice" (Mondays at 8 p.m. ET and Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET).
In this round of last round of voting before the finale, the coaches -- Christina, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green-- had 100 votes to split amongst their final two team members and then America's votes made up the rest of the votes.
First up was Team Christina. "By no way, shape, or form is this the end of the road for either of you," Christina told her top two: Lindsey Pavao and Chris Mann. But still, it was time for someone to go. Christina gave Lindsey and Chris an even 50 votes because she wanted to put the decision in America's hands. And when she did, the scores came out to 104/96 in favor of Chris, leaving a very teary-eyed Lindsey.
Then, it was Adam's turn. "Both of you make me so happy, I don't want to do this," Adam said to his top two, Katrina Parker and Tony Lucca. But, he explained, due to the exposure, they both win because people know who they are. When Adam split his votes, he gave Katrina 40 and Tony 60 because of his "connection to Tony." Adam told Katrina that she is the most improved on the show and seemed to already count her out even before host Carson Daly revealed America's votes. And it was also incredibly close: 92 for Katrina and 108 for Tony. Sadly, "most improved" is the unofficial title Katrina will go home with.
Next was Team Blake's turn. He explained how much he respects his final two contestants -- Erin Willett and Jermaine Paul -- and said they're "two of the best vocalists on the planet." As for his scores, he too gave them an even 50/50 because, he said, "I don't want to be a part of this decision anymore." When Carson factored in America's votes, it was 123 for Jermaine and 77 for Erin. The incredibly gracious Erin thanked her mother and her late father, Blake and "everyone" for the "life-changing" experience and then joked to Blake, "Let's get drunk."
Finally, it was Cee Lo's artists' turn to learn their fate. Cee Lo noted he has "two of the arguably best contestants on the show" in Juliet Simms and Jamar Rogers. He said they "breathed new life" into him and both of them got visibly choked up as he expressed his "unconditional love" for them. When Cee Lo's scores were revealed, he gave 60 to Juliet and 40 to Jamar. He couldn't give 50/50, he said, because they are "incomparable." But Cee Lo explained that Jamar has been the frontrunner the whole time and America loves him. But did voters love him enough? When America's votes were factored in, it was 79 for Jamar and 121 for Juliet. The clearly shaken up Jamar had little to say when Carson asked for his last words. "I never thought I would make it this far and thank you," he said.
So in next week's finals it's Chris Mann, Tony Lucca, Jermaine Paul and Juliet Simms fighting to be "The Voice." Tune in to see who takes the title and to see performances from Justin Bieber, Flo Rida, Lady Antebellum and Hall & Oates.
