Kickstarter Mythic

Betabeat:

When Kickstarter projects go wrong, backers often think they’ve been scammed; usually, the creators simply overpromised. But a campaign for an action video game, MYTHIC: The Story Of Gods and Men, has just been busted by forum users at Reddit, SomethingAwful and Rock, Paper, Shotgun.

lol This is funny. Others trying to get in with legitimate projects are nix nayed for fraud shows like this. lol Hey, copy and paste a project and team members. That's brilliant, although he left a track back which wasn't too smart. His artwork he should have taken from creative commons and the office staff and setting from a frame he bought at an office box store. lol This is so funny.

Nothing you said backed up your assertion that this is funny. And literally no money was diverted. It was quickly found out before it reached its goal, thus it only ever recieved a handful of pledges, not actual funding.

Good thing the money wasn't deposited because of the nature of Kickstarter. This kind of thing is inevitable. Overall Kickstarter is still a great website.

Well, the average schmo donates money to a guy with a slick presentation and the project folds. They are surprised?

Well seeing how it didn't raise any money, it's not much of a scam. You set the amount it will take to fund the project- if you don't reach that limit, the project doesn't get funded through Kickstarter. That's why a project doesn't want to set the funding amount too low to get the project done, but too high to be able to meet it.
