'Avengers' Post-Credits Scene Revealed

SPOILER: Second 'Avengers' Post-Credits Scene Revealed

"Marvel's The Avengers" post-credits scene has been revealed. Well, the second post-credits scene.

WARNING: The following post contains spoilers about "Marvel's The Avengers"; do not read, lest you want to be spoiled!

As is customary with Marvel releases, "The Avengers" features a scene after the initial bit of closing credits -- one that won't be spoiled here but does appear to set up the next phase of "The Avengers" universe.

So far, international prints of "The Avengers" haven't included a second scene, but that will change when the film hits U.S. theaters on Friday at midnight.

Film critic Christopher Campbell tweeted about the existence of the new scene on Tuesday night.

Later, SuperHeroHype message board user "Meus" revealed details of the second post-credits scene, which features all of the Avengers assembled -- but not for something that you might expect. It's likely that this new scene was filmed a few weeks ago, following the world premiere of "The Avengers" in Los Angeles.

"We’re shooting a scene tonight," co-star Mark Ruffalo said at the time to the Indiewire blog, The Playlist. "I’m not sure exactly where it’s gonna go. All I know is that someone came in with the costume and said, 'Here’s some wardrobe. We don’t know where you’re going to be or what you’re doing.'"

If you want to know the full extent of the scene, head over to SuperHeroHype.com. Or you can just wait another few days and see it for yourself in a movie theater.

"Marvel's The Avengers" is out in theaters on May 4.
