Justin Long was a lot of fun when he guest-starred for a few episodes earlier this season on "New Girl" (Tue., 9 p.m. ET on Fox). As Paul, the male Jess that she dated for a while, he was every bit as adorkable and awkward as she was. So it wasn't too much of a stretch that she'd fall back into his arms after her break-up with Russell.
Unfortunately, Paul was actually seeing someone else, and it was yet another Jess named Jen. "Asian Jess" as Jess dubbed her turned out to be as ugly a crier as Paul, after he admitted to sleeping with Jess two days before. But then, he proposed to her -- it makes a little more sense in the narrative of the story, but only a little -- or more specifically Jess proposed to her for him. As expected, it was kind of cute and kind of awkward at the same time.
But two days after he slept with Jess, and minutes after finding out about it, Jen said yes? "It made no sense that Asian Jess would, under any circumstances, say yes right then and there," according to HitFix. TVFanatic just appreciated seeing Long again.
"New Girl" wraps its freshman season next Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
