On Saturday, retired NBA superstar Shaquille O'Neal will receive a doctoral degree in education from Barry University in Miami Shores, Fla.

Shaq spent four years working towards his Ed.D. and will finish with a solid 3.8 GPA. He presented his doctoral dissertation, titled "How Leaders Utilize Humor or Seriousness in Leadership Roles," two weeks ago.

"This is for my mother, who always stressed the importance of education," O'Neal said in a news release from the university. "I am proud to have achieved a doctoral degree and wish to thank my professors and Barry University for helping make this dream a reality."
