'The Choice': Fox Orders 'Voice'-Like Celebrity Dating Show

'The Choice' Celebrity Dating Show Coming To Fox

Fox is giving celebrities "The Choice" this summer. "So You Think You Can Dance's" Cat Deeley will pull double-duty and host "The Choice" (Thurs., June 7, 9 p.m. ET) a new celebrity reality dating show.

"The Choice" will feature "the world's most eligible celebrities" (to be announced) competing for true love among a group of singles they can't see.

"We wanted to put a new spin on the dating game show that gives celebrities 'The Choice' of a lifetime and the chance to prove you really shouldn’t judge a book by its cover," Mike Darnell, president of alternative entertainment at Fox, said in a statement.

"The Choice" competition begins with four celebrities sitting in rotating chairs -- a la "The Voice" -- starting with their backs to the singles hoping to score a date. Each celebrity can only hear the suitors' voice as they share information. Once the celebrity likes what he hears, he pulls the "love handle" and the chair turns around, bringing him face-to-face with his potential date. If more than one celebrity picks a contestant, the contestant gets to decide which celebrity to join.

After each celebrity has three potential dates, the show goes into "Speed Choice" round, where each woman has only a few seconds to convince the celebrity to take her to the final round. In the finals, Deeley poses a challenge question to the team's final two. Celebrities get the final choice between their two contestants before the "dream date."

"The Choice," which will be filmed in front of a live audience, will also feature celebrity bachelorettes.

"The Choice" premieres Thurs., June 7, 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
