Biker Caught Speeding 26 Times Gives Police The Finger

A German motorcyclist who repeatedly gave a traffic enforcement camera the finger because he thought he would not get caught has been outwitted by law enforcement.

Police in Munich had been looking for the brazen biker since mid-March, when a speed camera captured him speeding through the Richard Strauss Tunnel on a 125cc bike. He was allegedly traveling at nearly double the posted speed limit of 37 mph.

Since that first snap shot, the same biker was caught speeding an additional 25 times. Police say he would often stick his middle finger up to the camera when he passed it by, The Local reported.

Authorities had plenty of evidence of biker's crimes, but what they lacked was his identification. In each instance the cunning biker had removed the license plate off his motorcycle, making it impossible for police to identify him.

The month-long search for the taunting biker came to an end Sunday, when he fell into a police trap. Local law enforcement, tired of his speeding and his antics, had become familiar with his driving routine and outsmarted him by waiting at the end of the tunnel. He was taken into custody without incident.

The brazen biker was identified as a 17-year-old. Because of his age, police have withheld his name. According to The Bild, he is a local student.

The teen confessed to the misdemeanor crimes and was fined a total of $5,460 and his license was suspended for more than 700 days. His 125cc vehicle was also confiscated, the Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper reported.

It will be a quite some time before the teen is able to legally drive by another traffic enforcement camera.
