Scott Walker Recall: Paul Ryan Praises Governor

Scott Walker Paul Ryan

Mount Pleasant Patch:

When it comes the Wisconsin recall elections, U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan says it's really all about courage.

"I think courage is on the ballot," he said in an interview with Patch Friday. "What I mean by that is Governor (Scott) Walker went after some of the root causes of the structural problems in the state budget."

People might not have liked the way Walker went about budget reform, Ryan added, but going after some of the causes of the state's deficit took a lot of guts.

You want to know what courage is to vote for Walker or against Obama this year? I know MANY state workers (teachers and non-teachers) who are afraid to donate ten bucks to the GOP in any form because their names will be on a list in some teacher lounge (as happened in Monroe WI last Spring - those who donated to Walker in any amount had their names "outed" on a bulletin board in a faculty lounge). I know people who are terrified that their names NOT on the petition to recall Walker will be used against them socially or at work. I know businesses who are afraid that any donation of any kind to a GOP candidate will result in a boycott. I know many pro-Walker people who think that we show America that "what democracy looks like" is going to the ballot box to vote - once and honestly and not carrying water for unions who simply want their cash cow back - you know - all the money they used to take out of your paycheck even if you did not want to join a union.Yes - for a lot of people I know - the incredible (an UN-American in every way)pressure in Wisconsin to intimidate pro-Walker people is scary. And it takes complete courage to cast your one honest vote in spite of the consequences that might hurt your kids, your business and your own job.

Ryan expects everyone to forget his worship of dystopian queen Ayn Rand... Sorry minion of the 1%... some of us are still getting educated in spite of the republican war on public education, women, and all things not white male.....

I hope the people of Wisconsin vote out both Walker and Ryan. I don't understand why the voters of the state put these two people in office in the first place. But I guess Wisconsin is a conservative state.

I live in a more Liberal state. Massachusetts. I'm working my tail off trying to help to get Elizabeth Warren into the US Senate. And I was a lifelong Republican, until the Tea Party came on the scene. The only reason why the polls are so close, here, is because Warren is a woman. The men here, conservative men that is, don't want to elect a woman into a major public office. We even have some Democratic politicians and former Democratic politicians, supporting Scott Brown, a "former underwear model". Can you believe it?

Scott Walker's campaign slogan should be, Dems, buying the union vote with your tax dollars. That would hit home.

How much courage do you need when some groups like the Koch Brothers and ALEC are pushing and writing their own bills for you to sign as Governor, that isn't courage that is arrogance and no concern for the citizens of WI, like Ryan's budget he is phony and full of himself following someones agenda isn't courage it's being someones puppet that can't think for himself!

Union membership is at historic lows.

Executive compensation is at historic highs.

Wealth disparity is at record highs, now worse than it was during the "gilded age".

The rich are getting richer, and the rest of us get stuck with all the bills.

And it seems all the Republicans want to talk about is tax cuts for the rich, and busting the unions.

IMPO..........Republicans represent the interests of the wealthy, those who contribute to Republican campaigns, to the exclusion of all others. (the rest of us)

If they are only working for 1% of Americans, it seems logical to me that they should only be getting 1% of the popular vote.

"Fascism is Capitalism in decline"

Look around America, it's later than we think.

When ALEC and the Koch Brothers suffer the mass exodus of other corporate owners people like Ryan and Walker will go away, because politicians like them will no longer have the power to push ALEC and the Koch Brothers agenda on the American people!

Listening to Ryan you would think that cutting programs for the most vulnerable members of society in order to feed the greed of the one percent is courageous but hopefully enough people in Wisconsin will think otherwise.
