Ambu-Bus Is Kentucky's New Emergency Vehicle Made From School Buses

PADUCAH, Ky. -- Behold the ambu-bus.

Authorities in Kentucky are making use of old school buses that are being turned into ambulances. Each one can carry up to 18 patients, which officials say will be of great help in case of a major accident or disaster.

The Kentucky Hospital Association is helping with the conversions through a grant program. Counties must buy the buses, but the association will help pay to convert them into ambulances.

The school districts don't throw the buss's away. They are sold if they work. And they are only using the ones that work........There is no recycling taking place,It is called re-purposing.And it probably costs more to do this than to buy a new ambulance.

Look at many old M*A*S*H episodes. You will see a converted school bus ambulance! They did it 60 years ago.
