What comes out of the mouth of McCain doesn't count for much...just like what comes out of the mouths of Romney and the rest of the lying neocon's mouths.

McCain didn't pick Palin...his party "puppetmasters" did...to get the lunatic fringe vote. McCain wanted Lieberman as his VP, who had more "smarts" than Palin, but didn't have the "Momma Grizzly" appeal that would draw the fringe to the polls.

McCain looked like he was gonna have an explosive bowel movement when he announced his "pick"...and he looked that way up until Election Day.

At his age, he is nearly always on the verge of an explosive bowel movement.

He, and all of the rest of the neocon fringe politicians, will probably "self destruct" into a huge pile of excrement if Obama gets reelected AND Democrats win a Congressional majority.

This is the thing that dreams are made of!!

I used to have a grudging respect for Senator McCain (prior to the 2008 campaign fiasco). Before this interview, I didn't believe I could think less of the man.

I would to know how many weeks in the last 3.5 years McCain has appeared on one or more of the Sunday talk shows. And in how many of those shows he has urged the president to wage, perciptate war, or support others to go to war. McCain thinks we should arm the Syrians, we should have a no-fly over Syria, we should bomb Iran, we should have done something about the Iran green demonstrations, we should have had boots on the ground in Libya, we should still be in Iraq, we should stay longer in Afghanistan, don't know about Yemen yet - will have to wait until next Sunday - Sudan? There should be a US naval presence in the Straits of Taiwan.

And Sister Sarah? Can you imagine a President Sarah? Me either.Sen, please get off the stage. Your legacy is being destroyed appearance by appearance. You and Linsey and Lieberman are of another generation - the one that feels comfortable sending more Americans to war.

Thank you McCain for reassuring us all as to why it would have been a disaster to have you as President. Palin was picked as potential VP because of her qualifications? Have you finally lost your mind?

what qualifications? lets be honest, mccains decision to select palin as his vp was NOT made with the head attached to his neck.
08:39 PM on 05/07/2012
Qualifications?

That was the primary reason the majority of independents totally rejected McCain. Failure of the potential POTUS in his first presidential decision. Qualifications! Ha!

How about him being honest and saying he was strong armed by the radical right to put her wacky voice on the ticket. When McCain goes down in flames he brings the torch with him.

So it took him three years to decide she was qualified? He didn't happen to mention any of them, did he?
Too late, Johnny, go back to sleep.

It took three years before he had the chutzpah to make such an outrageous claim, in the (probably correct) hope that people had forgotten what a disaster the half-term governor of Alaska was.

It is genuinely painful to watch Senator Elmer McFudd attempt to justify his Palin selection, because it truly is unjustifiable. I know it's too much to hope that he is never asked about her again, but seeing him muddle through his rationale apparently brings juy and delight to many. No matter what he says, he will always know that he was responsible for introducing one of the biggest embarrassments of the republican party to the national state, and now she won't go away.

You can almost feel the men who interview him backing off. He's becoming pitiable and the people interviewing him are embarrassed for him.

"John McCain Explains Sarah Palin VP Pick " - He was old, addled, losing and wanted to look at her behind from the back of the campaign bus! For the restof America it was just a huge giggle fest for the fetal positioned, grizzly lipped candy-date from Alaska....yoooooo betcha!

I think those comments are unkind and gratuitously mean-spirited.

What McCain did was unconscionable. He chose his ambition over our country's well being. Fortunately, Palin didn't make it to the White House. Nevertheless, we've all been diminished by fraud Palin. She is truly the Ugly American and a disgrace to the U.S. And, we, the people, have every right to be angry that he propelled her onto the stage that she continues to inhabit on a daily basis.

It's still eating at you isn't John. I'll bet it's the last thing your thinking about as your falling asleep and the first thing your thinking about as your waking up. I'll bet if you stare at a mirror long enough, she'll appear behind you John. Your hearing that voice now aren't you John. She's behind you John, no over here, no over there. She's everywhere you are John. BOO!

“I happen to believe that was the … primary factor on my decision in 2008," McCain said, Okay, he is more than a few fries short of a happy meal if he thinks Palin was qualified to step in to the Oval Office. I mean really John - I didn't think you were that loopy.
07:09 PM on 05/07/2012
Ohhhhh!!! So it was Sarah Palin's abundant list of qualifications that induced John McCain to select her as his vice presidential running mate. Now that he explained it it is all so obvious why she was choosen!! Palin's vast knowledge of economic issues the country was facing at that particular time and her ability to grasp complex theories at a glance I am sure must have contributed to the choice. Sarah's background in Foreign Affairs and her uncanny ability to understand as well as apply the nuance that is so desperately required in the field of diplomacy must have aided in McCain's choice of Governor Palin. All of the above assests along with that stick-to-the-jobness quality she posseses had to make McCain confident Sarah Palin could move into the Oval Office with ease and ability if she were called upon to do so. And I am sure it was that confidence in her that pushed Sarah over the top as McCain's choice for running mate.
