Sexting Help: Utah Mom Allegedly Snaps Nude Photos Of Her 13-Year-Old Daughter

A Utah mom is accused of helping her daughter send nude photos to an Oregon man.

Authorities in Utah have arrested a woman for allegedly helping her 13-year-old daughter text nude photos to a 30-year-old man.

The young girl's mother, a 35-year-old woman from Duchesne County, has been charged in district court with three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

According to the Duchesne County Sheriff's Office, the teenager told detectives she has an older boyfriend who lives in Oregon. She said he sent her a cellphone and asked her to send him naked photos of herself, police said.

The girl was unable to figure out how to work the cellphone, so her mother allegedly helped her take three nude photos with the device. The images were then texted to the Oregon boyfriend.

When questioned by police, the girl's mother, who is not being named to protect the identity of her juvenile child, allegedly admitted helping her daughter with the cellphone. She also allegedly said she was aware the teen had planned to send the photos to the man.

Each of the second-degree felony charges is punishable with a maximum of eight years in jail and a $15,000 fine.

The sheriff's office has notified authorities in Oregon about the case and investigators there have launched an investigation into the teen's boyfriend.

They should seriously make people take a psyche eval before allowing them to have babies. This is repulsive. Does anyone know hoe the cops found out about the pictures being sent?

I'm sick of these kind of parents. They don't even deserve the title "parent". Not that it matters but here's my logic. I will get hate for this. You should have to see multiple doctors, for screenings, mental tests... ALL the above, to get consent to be a parent. I know, it takes away free will & all. But for the hardest job in the world, there's no test... & the children are born to people who are completely messed up. Children are born to people everyday who one day they will be victims of. I'm not great at explaining this theory. But hopefully people will understand what I mean.

EVEN if the mother was instead the 13 year old's 17 year old sister, nude photos of any teen should not be sent to a 30 year old man.

That wasn't her boyfriend, just a disgusting pedophile.

I agree with you.

For those who send such a message I think it would be preferable to use an application allowing them to censor certain parts of their body (blur, accessories).

Fancy Snap allows in addition to sending these pictures with a very short lifetime (3, 5, 10 or 15s), then self-destruct after the photos have been seen.

I often play the Devils advocate when it comes to the teenage sex thing. I believe it is a failure on part of society that these kids can be convicted of crimes that they are considered to be mature enough to understand the consequences for, and spend the rest of thier lives in prison, But they arent considered mature enough for sex. Its kind of like how a man can go to war at 18 but cannot drink until 21. But far more serious. That being said, this woman has all but pimped her own daughter out to this guy. No wonder the daughter doesnt have a BF her own age. Poor kid doesnt stand a chance, just more of society's trash. Her kids probably wont amount to anything Either. I am convinced that congress should pass a law that bans people from breeding without a license.

You should be scared right now. Start talking, make sure you know her friends, make sure you know her friends' parents, and cell phones aren't a right, they're a privilege. Why you can't get phones without a camera is a mystery to me.
