Obama Visits Albany Science Center With Governor Cuomo (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: Obama And Cuomo Have An Awesome Playdate

President Obama swung by Albany today to give a speech on the current state of the economy, and to lay down a "to-do" list for Congress.

Governor Cuomo welcomed the President on the tarmac, and the two of them toured the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering, picking up scientific objects and talking about quantum physics and the intricacies of nanotechnology (we assume).

In his speech, Obama praised Cuomo for his “extraordinary leadership," and said that “he is doing outstanding work here in New York."

Governor Cuomo praised the president thusly: "Your leadership has brought this nation through the storm, and we thank you."

The governor also told the Times he was very excited about the President's visit, and what it could mean to upstate New York:

“There’s something called upstate New York,” the governor said. “New York is not just New York City, but New York is also upstate New York, and it’s also Albany and Syracuse and Rochester and Buffalo, and they’re doing very cool, exciting things. Nanotech in Albany. Who would have believed it?”

Capital Tonight pointed out what must have been on many people's minds: "Just realized we're about to get some images of Andrew Cuomo in front of the presidential seal."
