Valerie Trierweiler: France's New First Lady In 7 Facts

Meet France's New 'First Lady'

Nicolas Sarkozy is not the only one who will be packing his bags and leaving the presidential palace after his election defeat last Sunday. French first lady and former model Carla Bruni-Sarkozy is out, too.

Time to meet Bruni's successor and Francois Hollande's lady-friend Valerie Trierweiler, the unmarried 'companion' of the French president-elect who will accompany Hollande into the Elysee.

47-year-old Trierweiler is a famous journalist, the mother of three teenage sons, and will become the first working 'Première Dame' to occupy the presidential palace.
