Budweiser Bottle Goes Red, White & Blue, First Design Change In Years

Posted: 05/09/2012 2:32 pm

Budweiser Redesign

Last August, Budweiser redesigned its can in an effort to revive weak U.S. sales. Now, its the bottle's turn. For a limited time, the bottle (and can) are getting a red, white and blue makeover.

The new design is part of a summer initiative with Budweiser and the Folds of Honor Foundation, which provides post-secondary educational scholarships for families of military personnel killed or disabled while serving. A portion of all sales from May 20 to July 7 -- up to $2.5 million -- will be donated to the organization.

Check out the redesigned bottles, cans and packaging below:

I think there should be a law preventing the use of the flag on products. The flag is a symbol of our nation that men and women have fought for and died for. To use it as a means of commercial advertising cheapens the flag and the sacrifices made by our citizens.

That is so cool that they do that for military families. Not being a cynical pretentious d*****bag I can appreciate a company using it's profits to give back to the community in a meaningful way. Also, I just plain like the flavor of it. Sometimes it's nice to kick back with a good meal and a nice light beer that complements it instead of suffering through the bitterest possible craft brew with a "clever/ironic" name and trying to convince yourself that it isn't making your eyes water.

Good on Budweiser, and what a beautiful design!

You can do all the 'flag waving' you want......it's still a lousy beer, and the company is not even American owned.

The bottle was never the problem, the beer was. That being said, this looks really lame.

Now that they are foreign owned they put the American flag on their product?. Seeing it will just remind me that they are no longer an American brand. The original Bud label was an American icon. IT looked more American to me than the new version. They should have left well enough alone.

This is like Wal-Mart saying back in the day that they used American made products. But, we all know better than that.

"Old Glory" is our beloved flag; that of the United States of America. A representation of our flag or "implied" representation, should NOT be a bottle of beer, a six pack, or 12 pack. Our troops have carried that flag through combat and fight for it.
It's time Americans put "respect" for our flag...first, before ever thinking of adorning a consumer product with it!!!

Did you also know the Budweiser brand is also owned by Belgians? Granted they still produce in the states and maintain jobs in the breweries... The worst part is when InBev bought AB the stock plummeted to half and all the former AB employees were forced out of their retirement stock, as InBev did not offer stock to their new American employees. They also laid off thousands of American workers, but at least they were sent on their way with a severance of maybe a quarter of their retirement fund.... Now they put our flag on their packages, which is more of a bigger slap in the face than a good gesture!

Yes, I am fully aware of the Belgian ownership. Which is another reason WHY that flag should NOT be allowed on that product. They might think it's humorous or perhaps, it's nothing important to them. It shows a considerable lack of respect towards the United States of America!
