Howard Dean: Republicans 'Don't Like Latinos,' Serve Only Their 'Corporate Masters' (VIDEO)

Howard Dean Republicans

Former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean (D) lit into the GOP Tuesday night, attacking what he described as the party's willingness to abandon Latino voters and instead express concern only for corporate interests.

"[Republicans] don’t care what anybody says except for themselves and their corporate masters, like the Koch brothers. They have one master, and that's money," Dean told MSNBC's Ed Schultz. "They don't care about the average working American, all they care about is the corporations who are giving them all that money to put them into office. ... So who are they going to serve?"

Dean took issue with the recent Senate GOP move to block a bill to extend lower student loan interest rates, saying that it was telling show of priorities that the same lawmakers consistently argued that there was enough "money to give ExxonMobile a tax break."

“They want to tell women what to do in their personal lives. They don’t like Latinos, they want to take money out of college students’ pockets ... their priorities are not the right priorities for America,” Dean continued. "The American voters are not stupid. These guys are going to pay for this."

Dean, a former Democratic National Committee chair and 2004 Democratic presidential candidate, is no stranger to partisan pugilism, and he's thrown some hard punches of late. On Sunday, he took a similar jab at the GOP.

"Women are terrified of what the Republicans are talking about. They're talking about basically stripping away their ability to have insurance pay for their birth control pills," Dean said on CBS' "Face the Nation." "Latinos are terrified of the Republicans, because they seem to have a total tin ear when it comes to the basic needs of treating people with dignity."

I understand that Howie is on "medication" now after his explosiveness of a few years ago. Nuff said.

Nothing like a little over-the-top rhetoric from a politician followed by mass generalization and stereotyping from the online masses here at HP.

LOL.
State level Republican legislation is treating Latino Americans like second-class citizens.
Congratulations! You are coming face-to-face with your own typical "conservative" civic ignorance.

When I first read the headline that brought me in to this story, I thought wow, he's pulling the GOP trick of saying BS in hopes many will believe it and not look in to it. Then I read the story and I agree with what he's saying.

Many Latinos, though, vote republican because they are catholic and don't believe in abortion. They apparently don't see how those that run the GOP falsey claim to be religious and instead, worship only money, as Dean said.

This is all the Dems have to offer? Republicans hate you? SIGH...

Yeah right, like republicans have ever done anything for the Latin community. I remember all the empty promises as far back as G.H.W. Bush - all republicans have done is use the Latin community for votes and then forgot about keeping promises.

All they have to do is ask half the Latino caucus in the Senate.

They also don't like any minority, women, poor, unemployed, blacks, or any other race other than their white, wealthy, peers. Is Howard Dean just now getting up to speed on this?
