Ndamukong Suh, Rima Fakih Represent Detroit On Fox Celebrity Reality Dating Show 'The Choice'

Reality Dating Show Features Two Local Celebs

Can you convince a celebrity to take you on a date without seeing who you are? What if you had a hometown advantage?

When new Fox show "The Choice" airs next month, viewers will see if regular folks can woo stars, including two from the Detroit area.

Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh and former Miss USA Rima Fakih will be two of the contestants on new reality dating show "The Choice," EW.com reported Wednesday.

Premiering June 7, the Fox show lets celebrities hear pitches from unseen potential suitors and choose among them to line up a date. The prodedure is styled after NBC's hit singing contest "The Voice."

While good looks, talent and/or fame bless Suh, Fakih and most of their fellow celebrity contestants, we wonder if the "regular people" trying to score a date will be aware of these celebs' past indiscretions.

Suh has gotten flak, as well as an NFL suspension, for his hot temper on the football field. Of course, a fiery personality isn't always a bad thing on a date.

Fakih, who will appear with Carmen Electra and several other women on the only episode featuring famous bachelorettes, narrowly avoided jail Wednesday when she was sentenced to six months of probation for a January drunk driving charge after she was caught driving 30 mph over the speed limit in Highland Park, Mich., with an open bottle of champagne and a blood alcohol level of .19. The beauty queen told the Associated Press the experience was "very humbling."

In March, Suh had his own car troubles, receiving a speeding ticket in Portand, Ore. He was also cited for improper signaling and not carrying proof of insurance.

Perhaps it would be in everyone's best interest to use the services of a chauffeur for these celebrity dates. We've rounded up some other possible pros and cons of dating everyone's favorite headline-making Detroit Lion in the gallery below.

For a list of the other "eligible" bachelors (case in point, a "Jersey Shore" cast member is one of the stars) who will be taking dates on "The Choice," see EW.
