Drunk Virginian Brandishes Pistol Over Ritz's Expensive Hotel Rooms

ARLINGTON, Va. -- Luxury hotel room rates are too damn high. There are some good weekend deals, though.

A drunk Virginian walked into Pentagon City's Ritz-Carlton hotel at about 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, asking about room rates.

29-year-old Andrew Dziuk became "irate" over the luxury hotel's prices, Patch reports police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck as saying. So much so that he pulled two loaded guns, including a cocked pistol, on a security guard. The guard called the police, who arrested Dziuk.

ARLNow.com reports Sternbeck saying that Dziuk asked for more alcohol, "before pulling out his weapons, but was denied."

Patch reports that the Pentagon City Ritz's standard rate is $599 per night. The website is currently advertising a weekend rate of $149.

BRANDISHING A FIREARM, 05/09/12, 1200 block of S. Hayes Street. On May 9 at 1:30 am, a subject under the influence of alcohol and upset with hotel rates, brandished two handguns towards a security guard. Andrew Dziuk, 29, of Centreville, VA, was arrested and charged with brandishing a firearm, reckless handling of a firearm and drunk in public.
