Colbert Laments Obama's Gay Marriage Affirmation, Applauds North Carolina (VIDEO)

As feared, the moment Obama endorsed gay marriage, straight marriages all across the country began to crumble. Stephen Colbert, himself, nearly fell into the gay marriage trap, almost exchanging vows with longterm friend Tad, played by Paul Dinello, right on his set.

After the near miss, Colbert went on to applaud North Carolina for passing Amendment One, which bans gay marriage in the state, and reminded straight couples that gays would be crying themselves to sleep in solitude on Wednesday, making straight relationships "stronger with every tear."
