Jessica Biel Owns The $35,000 Row Backpack, Apparently (PHOTOS)

A girl who's engaged to an A-lister like Justin Timberlake has to have a five-star purse to match, right?

Jessica Biel must know this, and she used her brand new Twitter account to show off her latest super-posh accessory -- besides Justin, we mean.

Biel, who joined Twitter on May 7, has been up to the usual genres of tweets: complaints, Instagrams of skylines and, hilariously, jokes about boobs. (She's just like us!)

But on Wednesday, Biel tweeted a photo of herself in New York sporting a familiar-looking backpack. Wait. Is that THE The Row backpack? The same Row backpack that sold out this fall? The same Row backpack that cost $34,000-$39,000??

"Thanks Ashley!" Jess crows in her whosay post, which we'll assume is a reference to Ashley Olsen, one-half of the owners of The Row. (Guess who the other half is.)

Do you think Jess plunked down the cash for her bag? We're suspecting it was more of a party favor from Ashley Olsen herself.

Ashley, if you're reading, we also are ready and available to accept purse-related gifts.

UPDATE: According to The Gloss, Biel's backpack may be the $4,000 leather version, not the five-figured crocodile one. So... still very expensive.

So, what if she owns $35,000?! Let's think and count of how many animals are skinned and killed to make her bag...

$3,500 not 35,000, Way to research.

I'm sure it was a FREEBIE, that's why she's tweeting about it, to give the company some advertisement.

I'm glad the economy is back and all... I'm not against luxury... but a $39,000 BACKPACK??? That's obscene. At least $30,000 of those dollars is pure profit for the company. Anyone paying that much for a backpack is just a fool. I guarantee you that giving that much money to feeding starving people would make you feel a whole lot better than wearing that "backpack".

Did she fill something hit her in the back ? That was her 34,950 dollars change LOL

I am amazed at the comments on here....is it lost on you people that she transferred the $35K to someone else? So someone got her money. This is the form of "Weath Redistribution" you people should be championing. She's not hoarding it as a pile of gold coins inan annex to her 5th house. So because it went to a "designer" or a store selling designer goods...oh...that's bad...no employees or mortgage to pay for them right? But if she'd bought it from someone making a similar bag, but they weren't a designer, a small town boutique...oh you'd be saying what a great, generous, selfless person she was for giving some "nobody" $35K for such a trivial item. Check yourselves, dump the envy.

Just an FYI, I don't like Hollywood starlets, I detest "high fashion", but I find it infinitely more revolting that people get angry over how other people spend their money. Get a grip.

It's her prerogative to spend her money however she wants, but she got ripped off! Besides, I kinda don't think that that "wealth distribution" helped feed anyone really hungry, or saved any homeless animals, but then again, maybe it did. "A fool and their money soon go..."

I completely agree with you. People assume that because she paid a designer this that it just stay in the designers pocket. Well here are some people who will benefit from this bag.
1. THe Designers
2. The boutique employees
3. The boutique owner
4. THe seamstress
5. The truck driver who transported this bag to the boutique
6. The warehouse employees and owners that had to process the shipment to go to the boutique
7. The boat owner who caught the alligator this bag was made of.

I know a bit about high fashion and the industry and people do not realize that the bag doesn't just leave the showroom and go straight to a person there is a lot more that goes into it.

The same can be said of a 20.00 backpack -- makes NO difference to any of those 'workers' --

Your post makes no sense.

And in the meantime another hardworking family is living in their car because they lost their home.

Just once I'd like to see Hollywood have to live like we do. 34K for a backpack? How sad. She's wearing on her back more than I made last year.

It will all come around....

I can't understand what could possibly make it worth that much from the way it looks...was it previously worn by Cleopatra or something?

Is this ignorance or arrogance? So why do we keep supporting these people by buying tickets and songs? Shame on us.
