A third person has been apprehended in connection with the alleged murder of a Marine's wife in California.

Dorothy Grace Marie Maraglino was arrested by San Diego County Sheriff’s homicide detectives on Thursday night as part of an ongoing investigation into the death of Brittany Killgore, the 22-year-old wife of Lance Cpl. Cory Killgore.

A San Diego County Sheriff's Office news release did not mention what role law enforcement officials believe Maraglino, 36, played in the alleged murder.

"No further information will be released at this time as the investigation continues," Sheriff Bill Gore said in the statement.

The Naval Criminal Investigative Service assisted in the arrest, according to the statement.

Killgore was reported missing in mid-April.

Suspects Jessica Lynn Lopez and Louis Ray Perez were arrested and charged with the alleged killing last month after Lopez's suicide note -- which she did not act upon -- led police to Killgore's body, according to the sheriff's office. Both suspects have pleaded not guilty, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Prosecutors told the AP that Killgore filed for divorce three days before she went missing, when she was supposed to go out with Perez and another unidentified friend. That is the last time she was seen.

Investigators allegedly found a knife with Killgore's blood on it in Perez's car.

Perez's attorney, Jeff Reichert, said Lopez's suicide note shows "very, very clearly" that she killed Killgore and that his client was not involved, according to the AP.

Just as we all knew they would, additional facts keep coming to light as time passes. I assert the events leading up to this tragedy, will continue being revealed throughout the trial(s).
11:45 AM on 05/12/2012
They don't have enough proof that she did it, that's why no charges were filed.
11:42 AM on 05/12/2012
They haven't pressed charges on this woman because they are not quite sure if she played a role. She is a suspect, but no charges have been filed due to lack of knowing for sure.

People don't fear the law these days. No matter what the crime, they get free room and board for years while the court system shuffles along at a snail's pace and seemingly endless appeals are filed. The system needs a complete overhaul to speed up the process, and public executions, perhaps by guillotine, might make people THINK before they commit major crimes.
01:41 PM on 05/12/2012
moongo, too many people get that "free room and board: already on the out side.
Welfare, food stamps (debit cards now), free rent, free cell phones, free medical care
etc.
There is absolutely no deterient to criminal activity today.
So what ever they do, they are well taken care.
One of the reasons America is on the skids.
02:13 PM on 05/12/2012
Have to agree with most of what you said. The thing I would change is that America isn't on the skids, we went past that point a long time ago. This country has already rolled over in the ditch. Sadly none of our current crop of politicians seem to know how or what to do about it.

that would be the LAW in California, where legal behavior is systematically mocked. There are untold negative consequences. This woman's murder being one of them - how many are murdered in California each year? 3500 or so?

I suspect a thrill killing. Or, after getting involved too deep, she tried to back out.

Love triangle goes bad, people die, life moves on. I'd like to forget these freaks.

What an apathetic thing to say. Your life may move on, but the victim's sure doesn't. That's alright though... you'll be forgotten soon enough.

Lethal Injection takes too damn long and many times is screwed up when it's carried out! Some who are against the Death Penalty talk about "cruel and unusual punishment" when a person is put to death for killing another Human Being. Well, no one likes to watch a person die really, except when it's the victim's family. Many people talk about how horrible Capital Punishment is-and I usually answer-What's Horrible is the Cold Blooded Killing the Murderers Did! Are we less better as a people for having Capital Punishment? Not in my view we're not. European's think differently, but we're not Europe! I believe that The Gas Chamber and Electric Chair were Much Better Deterrences than the current method. Finally, if it is to be a "humane" execution if convicted and sentenced to death, than I hope they make an Exception and put the murderer or murderers of Brittany Killgore to Death by Firing Squad. That is more "Humane" and certainly quicker in my view-and I believe is Still a Better Deterrence than the system we have in place now!

Capital Punishment in any form is not a deterrent - if it were we wouldn't have had a second murder after the first execution. Capital Punishment is also not about justice or punishing the murderer because the truth is - they're dead - they don't know that they're being punished. Capital Punishment is about revenge and in an advanced society we should be above revenge as that puts us on the same level as those who commit the crimes.

It may not be a deterrent but there are plenty of murderers who murdered somebody else after theywere released from prison but nobody who who was executed ever murdered anybody after their sentence was carried out.

While I understand what you are saying, and likely I'll get flack for this, I don't want tax dollars going to keep these murderers in prison for the rest of their lives. The money can be better spent elsewhere, like on improving schools or helping care for the unfortunate. And I don't believe they should be released back into society, they've proven they are untrustworthy around other people. So what's the answer?
11:37 AM on 05/12/2012
WOW...to kill another under any circumstances makes us no better than them. How many people have been killed under our system and were not guilty? One would be too many.

this would be the liberal asinine idealism, plus the standard liberal equivalency error. I dont' support the death penalty, except under special circumstances - cop killing, serial killer or a child killer. However, stating that those who are carrying out well established & notorious laws designed to deter the murder of fellow humans are on the level with someone who pursued the intentional death of another, is utter hubris. Popular though in rabid lemming liberal circles.

Everytime I see the stock picture of this woman, I imagine the sketch by Leonardo Da Vinci. Someone beautiful murdered. What a loss.

I hope justice is done.

Two pled not guilty.. time to man and woman up and say guilty and tell then why you did it.. cowards...
11:53 AM on 05/12/2012
However this third one hasn't been charged because of lack of enough proof. She is a suspect but the law doesn't have enough proof that she was part of the crime. That's why no charges have been filed against her.

You are not arrested just so they can talk to you....here, I think you missed this part of the article.

The Naval Criminal Investigative Service assisted in the arrest

Have to wonder if G or Sam were involved in this.
03:05 AM on 05/12/2012
And why in the hell would you think that the government was involved in the girls murder???

Naval Criminal Investigative Service is involved in all investigations of crimes by or against active duty naval personel, dependent spouces and children of navy personel and civilian navy employees.

Common Sense Isn't!

While I am in no way justifying it, being separated due to deployment to a war zone causes great stress on a couple, married or not. L/Cpl Killgore was not the first to have this happen to him nor will he be the last. It is very difficult for anyone, especially young people, to be separated/alone with the added stress that there may be a knock on the door at any moment by an officer telling her her husband is dead or wounded.
Was it predictable that such an attractive young woman acted as she did? I can't answer that. Did she engage in risky behavior? It would seem so, but that would be making assumptions.
At any rate this is a sad and tragic story. A young vibrant life taken by ruthless selfish people and a young Marine's personal life destroyed by events beyond his control. My heart goes out to both families for their loss and the helpless feeling and questions of why they must have.

From another poster, what she writes is accurate, we live in NoSDCo and these things have been being reported for weeks. We take this tragedy seriously and personally around here. Bless the soul of Brittany Killgore.
-----------------------------
muguetdesbois 7 hours ago ( 7:02 PM) Mrs. Killgore was not romantic with Perez. She had merely met new people she thought were friends, and trusted them. Who among us hasn't met up with people to go out to dinner? She was going out with them as a group, including with Perez' girlfriend (not Lopez, maybe this Maraglino). Both Perez and Lopez rented rooms under aliases in a house which law enforcement later described as no ordinary home, but "...a meeting place for sexual deviants...". Basically, Mrs. Killgore was lured into a sex dungeon and killed. She thought she was meeting them there to go out on a dinner cruise. No affair, she was leaving California in 3 days, her belongings already shipped to her mom & dad's, her carry on for her flight was already prepared, she told her grandma she was going on this dinner cruise with friends, police confirm she was dressed for same. We tremble to think what this poor woman endured in her final hours. She and her husband have been dragged through the mud in spite of being completely innocent victims. May her soul rest in peace. May Mr. Killgore, her parents and their families be uplifted in prayer. May her killers be swiftly convicted. Sad, sad

nobody knows is going on except that the victim was divorcing her husband and doing what tens of thousands of American woman have done for generations. they dump their husbands when the husband can't do anything about it because he is fighting for our country and risking his life. was he involved in the murder? a polygraph would resolve that issue. the big question was if he was going to murder his wife why involve so many people? how was it arranged? surely there is an electronic trail if he was involved. and what about his soon to be ex-wife. what was she doign and who was she doing? Was she involved with drugs/crimes? Lots of questions and no answers so far.

her husband had nothing to do with the murder, read some san diego news stories, it will give you more facts. This woman was the victim of a horrible crime and that crime was committed by the very two people the police have in custody.

Yes, it is bad to leave your husband while he is deployed. However, perhaps they were already on the rocks before he left. She is dead because she choose to trust people she should not have. Until you walk a mile in the shoes of someone so young (only 22) going through a deployment, don't judge.

For those of you who care about this innocent woman as do millions of us, Mrs. Killgore, and Mr. Killgore who is suffering so, her poor parents, and all her loved ones, here is a news update from Thursday night. For the rest of you, please honor her husband's public request and cease making cruel and salacious comments about his deceased wife who endured a violent murder. Respect is in order.
