Considering the fact that the right to bear arms is guaranteed by the Constitution, which automatically makes it an across the board Federal law, not to be infringed upon....I have NO idea how we have so much trouble holding on to it!

As a violence policy advocate, it’s important to note that none of what I write is personal conjecture but instead comes from the study of statistics, polls, and opinion found through research of web sites on the Internet. It’s come to my attention that gun owners belong to the NRA and are Tea Party Insurrectionists Extremist Gunophile Fetishists. It’s also notable that they will often give up their families, careers, and even their life to have “Wild West” type shootouts over minor disputes such as parking spots or to compensate for some other shortcoming. Again, this is not personal conjecture but consensus among the public as verified in the Comments sections of several web sites. That’s not to say that they don’t favor common sense civilian disarmament polices such as the prohibition of AK-47 Assault Weapons since they can now safely be considered Weapons of Mass Destruction, and have no civilian use, or the reasonable ban of Glock brand machine pistols since they have no militia use and therefore, are not protected by the Second Amendment. This information comes from recent polling and a quick search will show that to you. Of course we shouldn’t overlook high power, armor penetrating , 9mm ammunition as well. I would like to join my peers and urge legislators at every level to Dis the Deadly Myths and Reclaim the Constitution, by proposing sensible and reasonable policies that register and eventually disarm the public though no one is talking about handgun bans.

Let's all keep in mind that ALL the internet websites bare nothing but the truth. < how hysterical!! How shallow you are. I'm glad this is not just your personal opinion, although I beg to differ. I, for one am not an "Extremist Gunophile Fetishist" as you called it. I am a Red Blooded American who hunts game (to eat) and carries a handgun (for my personal protection). Whether it is Smith and Wesson, Winchester or a Glock, I WILL carry one if it is my desire to do so.

When our assembly passed your concealed weapons and stand your ground productions before the year was out, in northern Indiana, we had one heck of a bar shoot-out thanks to your efforts. In northern Indiana, you can carry concealed weapons into bars (what could go wrong). Sure enough some bar attendees came packing. Over a disagreement over a girl, weapons were drawn and the shot's rang out. When the smoke cleared, 3 people lay dead and several were injured. The bar was forced to closed later. A real life example of the consequences of your efforts and please take note: bars/alcohol/and guns don't mix well. DUH

That seems like the bar should have had enough sense to place a sign outside the establishment banning firearms from the property. The law is in place to protect law-abiding citizens, not the criminals.

You would think that would be the case. We've had concealed carry in bars for a year now and we had open carry in bars for as long as I can remember here in Virginia and I haven't heard of any gunfights breaking out. Maybe it's the people in Indiana who are to blame and not the gun or the right to defend yourself.

Well the bar didn't have the sense, and even if they did it probably be ignored because when you mix alcohol/drugs and guns then add a bar you can't be surprised when things like this happen. As my mother used to say "that's asking for it" and in this case she was right. As for the ..law is in place to protect law-biding citizens.., yes we have heard that ad nauseam but maybe if they they settled it the old way--with fists. there would probably be less collateral damage to law-biding citizens. In the days of the cell phone, call the cops it's their job.

I believe I saw this woman on TV after the Trayvon Martin murder. She was saying that you don't shoot to kill, you shoot to live. Where does it end? While I very much admire her for raising and advocating for her grandchildren, I am at the same time sorry that these children will be raised in an environment of guns and violence.
